The Carrera Kraken 16" Hard-Tail Mountain Bike is a high performance MTB with high level components throughout. Featuring a lightweight, double-butted 7005 T6 alloy frame and a Suntour XCR-D hydraulic fork with 120mm travel damping and lockout to make light work of rough and hilly terrain. SRAM X5 27-speed gearing gives a wide range of gears and slick and reliable gear changes.

Heavy, poor gears I bought this bike because it scored highly in reviews, however I found it to be very heavy, the gear changes are clunky (compared to shimano) and the chain broke on the first ride! Very disappointed. 30 April 2013
This bike is not good I have had nothing but trouble with this bike, had to have a new brake calliper the same day I got the bike cause it was leaking hydraulic fluid and It wasn't set up properly, both front and rear brakes are binding, the chain snapped and broke the derailier 3 days after getting the bike I most certainly wouldn't recommend this bike to anyone 24 April 2013
Cracking Kraken Ordered the bike from Caerphilly Store at 9pm and it was ready by 2pm the next day. Great bike for the money and rides well. Particularly impressed with how agile the bike is and the suspension is outstanding. The front suspension is lockable/adjustable on the move to suit road or off road. I think most bad reviews are due to how the bike was assembled. I don't think my gear changing assembly is set up correct as it keeps jumping but this can be sorted on the free 6 week service. In conclusion, outstanding first time bike that'll do you proud just make sure it's assembled right. It also had rave reviews in a recent mountain bike magazine too. 23 April 2013
Can't get better for the price This is a fantastic bike, especially at this price. I actually can't quite work out how they can sell a bike of this spec at this price and still make a profit. The bike is great, lovely light and strong frame, good quality brakes and mech, definitely recommend for first time or casual biker. Looks great oo. 22 April 2013

Great performance for the money This bike is brilliant off road and on. I've been using the Vulcan which is a great bike too but the Kraken is lighter and faster due to the slightly thinner tyres and the impressive gear set. For the money, I doubt it can be beaten. Also, the staff at Berwick upon Tweed were fantastic and couldn't have been more accommodating. Thanks again! 20 April 2013
Excellent A fantastic bike for the money, excellent value (especially when Halfords are doing discounts). Really nice looking, except when caked in dirt - the white does have to be cleaned often. I added orange pedals and valve caps just to accentuate the orange a bit more. I searched for reviews and this was be far the best bike in the price range. Comfortable, quality parts and reasonably light (again, for the price). 18 April 2013
Carreras kraken Happy with my purchase and the staff at the Halfords Port Talbot store were really helpful,answering all questions and giving great advice. The bike feels great and light to ride but feels strong and heavy duty for the off road tracks. 16 April 2013
