Excellent Choice Purchased the boxed version to keep cost low. Excellent packaging meant there was no damage to any parts in the large box. All went together very easily during assembly with the exception of the saddle post bolt which stripped threads before retaining the saddle in position - guess it was made from the rare soft metal Cheesium! I replaced it with a quality bolt which did the job perfectly. There were no other issues in putting together the bike which seems of excellent quality indeed. Adjusted the brake block position and brake setup and tweaked the deraillure configuration and all was perfect. My son thoroughly tested his new pride and joy with no issues, a very happy boy indeed! 10 June 2012
Birthday Gift I bought this for my grandson's 7th Birthday. He is quite tall for his age and with a slight adjustment to the seat its perfect and can be adjusted as he gets taller. He loves his bike and is exactly what we would have expected from a bike for a child of his age. Excellent value for money and also came in a choice of colours 08 March 2012

present for 7 yr old Bought after viewing many other mountain bikes. With full suspension, gears and protection for the chain (which is handy when bike is dropped on the floor as boys do!) this is a very good deal. Identical frame to similar more expensive bike, the only difference was the handles. Very pleased with purchase. With the 3 for 2 accessory offer I was able to add mudguards and a stand too. 14 November 2011

OK...i was gonna bmx till i found out they are slower then mountain bikes and when i search a m-bike on halfords i just can seem to find a 13 year old one.

At age 13 you may find that an adult bike with a smaller frame might be suitable, perhaps from the Apollo range. Typically the kids bikes range covers up to ages 11 with BMX bikes universally suitable for most over the ages of 7. We have 14" adult mountain bikes like the Apollo Ridge which you may find more suitable.
