Pashley Parabike Classic Bike Product Description

The Pashley Parabike 19" Classic Bike, with its unique duplex-tube frame, offers simplicity, style and practicality in a bicycle that is equally at home on the open road as it is on country tracks. With its 1940's origins, this classic cycle provides a refreshing alternative to the modern hybrid bicycle.

The Parabike features a unique duplex-tube frame, giving a comfortable ride and unmistakeable style. The design harks back to the paratroop airborne cycles used by the British Army in World War II. Sturmey Archer alloy hub brakes provide excellent stopping power whatever the weather and are very low maintenance. Add these to wheels with puncture resistant tyres and you have a truly practical machine.

Lovely bike This is a lovely bike, pretty and beautifully made. The Sturmey Archer gears aren't shifting very well, which I'll have done in the 6 week service, and it's a little unstable on fast descents, probably due to the short wheelbase. It's lighter than you'd think as well, due to the frame design. 21 August 2012
