Egde 800 is rugged & aerodynamic with a carbon fibre construction with either blue or white accents; attaches to the stem or handlebar of your bike with the low-profile mount; quarter-turn mount design holds unit securely; The Garmin Edge 800 touchscreen display is tough enough to stand up to the elements, yet sensitive enough to respond to the tap of a gloved hand. Switch training pages or pan and zoom the map with just a tap. The bright, sunlight-readable colour display is easy to view in all lighting conditions.

Garmin connect

Explore Garmin Connect site and choose from millions of rides uploaded by other users. Any activities you upload to your Edge 800 are stored as courses; follow the course with navigation prompts or, for a little competition, race it and try to beat previously set goals.

High sensitivity GPS receiver

Records every move with a high-sensitivity GPS receiver that stays locked on to a signal, even under tree cover. The Egde800 receiver features HotFix satellite prediction to calculate your position faster.

Barometric altimeter

Barometric altimeter on the Garmin Edge 800 provides extra-precise climb and descent data and records temperature changes; pair with third-party ANT+ enabled power meter to display your power output in watts as you ride. Edge 800 Virtual Partner gives a digital depiction of your goal speed vs. your speed in real-time. Other training features include detailed workout planning, Auto Pause, Auto Lap and Courses.

Upload rides to PC or Mac

With the Garmin Edge800 you can upload rides to PC or Mac using the included USB cable. Log on to Garmin Connect to see the route you've ridden on a map, view a summary of your ride, create goals, share rides and data with others; be part of the Garmin biking community. Garmin Training Center software compatible.

Fantastic piece of kit but expensive The bundle from Halfords combined with the £20 off offer was enough to convince me to finally buy. The use of GPS is much better than the old fashioned magnet and the range of things the kit can do is really impressive. Definitely recommend. 02 August 2012
Garmin800 great great bit of kit, had edge305 previously, my only complaint is the mounting isn't great, their old method was more secure Never use halfords before, and apart from the order saying 4 days for dlvery when i had paid for next day they were great 30 May 2012

The best bike computer ever?? This piece of kit is excellent. I had wanted one for a while and Halfords' Christmas offer, including the OS mapping software, pushed me over the edge! I took the plunge and the unit arrived the next day. Very easy to set up and comes with two bike mounts so can be transferred from bike to bike in seconds. The touch screen works well even when wearing full finger gloves. Already the unit has seen quite a bit of action, getting covered in mud most rides and very wet from downpours and spray from the front wheel. Seems well put together and I'm happy with the quality. However, I have purchased the Garmin silicone case for added protection from knocks etc. Routes can be uploaded onto Garmin Connect in seconds and then emailed / shared with your other biking mates to prove that you were there and you really went that fast! 14 January 2012
Sat nav for bikes Simple and easy to use once you read the instructions. Take a day to set it up and use it a couple of times and its a dream. Even postcode input and poi. The altimeter and route review feature is a great training tool. 09 January 2012
amazing piece of kit After much deliberation I got the 800 trail bundle. The device works really well. It is great for training and garmin connect site is brilliant for finding new rides on your doorstep or anywhere else for that matter. It is not cheap, but I got mine in the Christmas sale which made it affordable. I do a lot of road and mountain biking so the extra money for the 800 over the 500 was worth it. You can upgrade with cadence sensors and heart rate monitor at a later time. 03 January 2012
Excellent device and service from Halfords Halfords get knocked by a lot of bike snobs, but here they are selling the best GPS for bikes in the world for the best price in the UK. The GPS itself is all you need for cycling both on road and off road. There is software that lets you plot offroad maps. The system has FULL UK 1:50k OS maps on it, but best of all these are routable like a standard TomTom/Garmin road device, ie you can put in a postcode and it will give you turn by turn (road only!) directions to your destination...brilliant. Optional HRM and Cadence sensors can be bought separately. The Garmin software is not the best in the world, but it improves with each generation. 02 January 2012

It is now early January 2012 and the product is still not available for purchase, even taking into account the answers to the previous availability questions. When will this product definetly be available to purchase in 2012 and for the price quoted on the website.

If the product you are looking at is in stock in your chosen store you can reserve it online and it will be ready to collect in only 1 hour. If it is not in stock, order the product before 3pm Monday to Friday and it will be ready to collect from 1pm the following day including Saturday.
