Easy to Use

We know you just want to get out and enjoy your ride without fussing over gear and electronics, so we made Edge 200 extremely easy to use. There's no setup required - just pop it onto the included bike mount and you're ready to roll. You even can use it on multiple bikes.

GPS-enabled

Garmin Edge 200 features a high-sensitivity GPS receiver with HotFix satellite prediction to calculate your position faster. That means when you turn it on outdoors, it finds satellites quickly so you can get on with your ride. It also alerts you if you're moving but the timer is not running. Edge 200 has an Auto Pause feature so it will stop the timer when you're not moving, then restart automatically when you're rolling again. You also can set alerts for distance, time or calories to make it easier and more fun to achieve your goals.

Whether you ride for fun, fitness or to feed your competitive edge, you'll love seeing how far and how fast you rode. Having this data at your fingertips provides motivation and inspiration to keep you going. GarminEdge 200 stores up to 130 hours of ride data and sorts your activities so you can quickly look up the fastest, longest or last ride.

Challenge Me

Garmin Edge 200 helps you bring new life to old rides with Courses, a feature that lets you challenge your times on previous rides. A digital cyclist shows your speed relative to your past performance, along with an indication of how far ahead or behind you are. You also can download rides from other Garmin Connect users for a virtual competition.

Garmin Connect

Join a worldwide network of cyclists and outdoor enthusiasts at Garmin Connect. Once your ride is done, upload it to the site to see the path you traveled on a map, analyze it, share it and view more detail like elevation. Use Garmin Connect's new Course Creator feature to plan new rides or convert a past activity into a Course.

Great piece of kit The Edge 200 is the entry level of this series of GPS units from Garmin but it still packs a punch. It is easy to fit, with no hook up to the front wheel to measure speed as the on-board GPS takes care of that. Also you get 2 bike mounts making swapping to another bike a breeze! The best thing is the Garmin Connect connectivity which not only allows you to play back your recorded route, superimposed over Bing satellite maps (just like Google maps), but, even better - you can plan your route on Garmin Connect then download it to the Edge 200 and go off and ride. If you want a full moving map then buy the Edge 800, as the turn indications on the 200 are basic. But for a high end wireless bike computer or entry level GPS device the Edge 200 is a steal. 30 April 2012

Good - but could be better! Nice product - easy to set up, and fit to your bike. Very reliable GPS to monitor your speed - but does seem to slow under heavy tree canopies. I use mine to upload to STRAVA, but also have my smart phone that does it wirelessly. This would be my one criticism, the need to connect by cable to a laptop - to download your ride data. Good - but could be even better - particularly at the price. 16 September 2012
Fantastic Piece of Kit Wanted something that would give my cycling some sort of focus and the Garmin does this brilliantly. I used it in the Severn Bridge Sportive to follow a route that was imported from the organisers as a GPX file, I've plotted my own route using the route planner from Garmin web page which is excellent and I've also downloaded data from a free ride. The directions on the screen are clear and the information is easily read. I've used this in one "wet" ride and the unit suffered no water ingress. It can loose satellite connectivity if you are on a tree-lined route but that's only temporary and the until will re-adjust once connection is restored. I did have to search the web to get the device to accept a GPX file but once I realised you use the "new data" folder, the route went onto the Garmin very quickly. Overall, massively satisfied with what is Garmin's entry level product. 02 September 2012
Great Price with cashback Had this for a week now and it it does what it says very good, I also use my phone sometimes and was surprised to see that the phone was out 3/4 mile over a 20 mile cycle. The Edge comes with 2 holders so you can set up 2 bikes if you want. You can also upload to garmin connect to check your rides and check other rides in the area. Good price from halfords and with a £30 cash back from Garmin a great buy 01 September 2012

Easy To Use Cycle Computer Comes with two mounts so is easily installed on two cycles. Operation is easy and it is interesting knowing your speed and distance travelled. I upload my data to garmin Connect and Strava. the latter lets me compare my performance with others over segments. It turns every ride into mini time trials which is good for interval training. I have yet to try the navigation side of the unit but expect this to be basic. 02 April 2012

Answer: 
You can see speed, distance and timer but you cannot change any data fields. You can switch on auto scroll which will give you additional information at the bottom of the screen, but unfortunately not the time of day.
