Good but could be better Just want to let people know that although this radio has RDS I think its missing EON. There seems to be no radio text (info on what song/artist and station logo) on any FM stations - however the Station name does display, also you have to set the clock manually - I would have imagined if this radio had full RDS with EON it would automatically set the clock and date like my previous radio did which had RDS and EON written on the front panel. The Dimmer is not worth executing on this radio as it hardly dims the display at all and buttons and display is far too bright at night for this price the display should automatically dim at night my far cheaper previous radio had an effective auto dimmer function. No title/artist name when streaming music by Bluetooth (but i think all bluetooth car radios have this problem) but you can fast forward and reverse with the buttons on front of the unit when listening to music by Bluetooth A2DP. one of the features I liked and wanted is that the Pioneer website and all other websites said this radio supported SMS notification (presumably when paired up phone by bluetooth a sound or message would show up on display saying received SMS) however I could not get it to work with iphone 4s and an email to Pioneer came back an email saying unfortunately we have made an error in the specifications and that the radio DOES NOT Support SMS Message Notification. You cannot change the colour of the buttons of the front panel like you can on the cheaper Pioneer Car radios and not only that you would think logically they would have made the info in the display red as well to match the buttons, but now the info in the LCD display is white - so if your car colours dashboard is green, and you have red buttons and white display - nothing matches!! Sound is brilliant, but not straight out of the box you have to go into the menu and enable 'Loudness' first of all and then play around with the graphic equalizer. One last thing - if you want this radio to work fully with your Iphone/Ipod you have to purchase the special pioneer optional ipod data lead seperately, they have not included the cable in with the radio even for that price the radio is being sold for, so not only have you forked out a fair bit of money for a top quality pioneer radio which says on the box works with iphone/ipod on top of that they want you to buy the iphone lead to get full features from the ipod after shelling out money for getting a new car radio. - I opted not to get it even though halfords were doing it half price when you bought the radio. personally had I have known before I bought the radio from Halfords about the not full RDS, and that it didnt have the advertised SMS notification feature and all the other things I have pointed out I would have personally not bought this one from pioneer and maybe would have gone for a Sony radio with Bluetooth but its too late in my case now. Purchase carefully and wisely and hopefully my review helps you go for the right radio you want for your car or van. 17 August 2012
very good just bought this an hour ago fitted with in half hour must say very plesed as it had parrot hands free on it and that is on of reson for bying it plus my head unit had gone i have installed into my van and thinking of getting one for my bmw a barging at this price 31 July 2012
Pioneer DEH-4400BT Ipod function basic but easy to use, Sound quality and EQ has a poor user interface, I like my music to be very bass heavy, I always use infinity components with alpine/pioneer head unit, and i can vibrate my fillings loose, with this unit the base is very flat I was disappointed I even swapped my rear speakers i thought i had blown one it was that flat, with the eq set to 6bass and powerful the distortion at low levels is horrendous, If you like good bass lines with crisp treble this is not the unit for you!! I have returned the unit and swapped it for a alpine and now i have awesome sound back 30 July 2012
Best cd player i have ever come across I bought this product with the intention of using the bluetooth function more than anything else. It works great to make and receive calls and also its clear when you play songs of your phone onto the device. Would recommend. Camt go wrong for the price. 14 May 2012

this unit has 4 pre outs on them the first 2 are for frount and the 2nd 2 are for the back/sub so with some clever connections you should be able to do this, but im not so sure you would need to as the fiftted mosfit amp is very loud and backed with a sub sounds fantastic
