Around 80,000 campers will descend upon the site, according to Newbury Today.

The website reported on heavy traffic warnings from the local council, saying local people should allow extra time for commutes and other journeys.

Reading's lead councillor for planning and transport, Tony Page, said: "We're doing as much as we can to keep traffic moving and it would help if as many people as possible used public transport or walked."

Festival attendees will be directed to free car parks at Mapledurham and Kings Meadow, where they will be transported to the festival site via a pedestrian bridge or boat.

As well as tents, sleeping accessories and a camping stove, festival-goers could also consider that a satnav could improve their journey by helping to avoid congested main routes.ADNFCR-1635-ID-18745330-ADNFCR
