Families who like a busy and exciting holiday could consider Blackpool as their destination this summer, according to a survey.

The town's Pleasure Beach has been voted as the travel location that gives the best value for money, according to the Press Association.

Families going to one of the resort's camping and caravanning sites for a summer of fun could certainly find thrills on the many rides that the attraction has to offer.

However, the bad news is that respondents to the survey said there is not much else to do in the town - it was also voted the second most boring place to visit.

Setting aside the results of the survey, Blackpool also offers miles of beach, the famous Promenade, Stanley Park and the Tower.

The Promenade itself is ideal for cycling and the town itself is on a proposed cycle route that will completed within a few months, linking Lytham with Fleetwood.
