Camping and caravanning has increased in popularity, according to the Association of British Travel Agents (Abta).
The announcement follows a survey of 2,000 people by Opinium Research on behalf of travelsupermarket.com, which saw 77 per cent of people identify price as the overriding factor in their choice of holiday.
Frances Tuke, spokesperson for the association, said camping, caravanning and posh camping have both been "very popular" over the last year.
She added: "The kind of camping where you get semi-permanent structures with pot-belly stoves in them have been really popular, caravanning as well."
"I know that The Caravan Club has really seen a marked increase in business."
