Car styling and accessories are the focus of a new Passat range from Volkswagen (VW).

The manufacturer gave details this week of its R Line series, which carries a 600 premium over the S model, starting at 17,040 on the road.

Despite the price rise, VW said the gadgets and gizmos in the vehicle are worth an extra 2,470.

Eight colours are available, as well as 17-inch alloy wheels and front, rear and side skirts.

Inside the Passat R Line cars will be cruise control, seats with lumbar support, climatic air-conditioning, a radio/CD/mp3 player and remote central locking.

Two diesel and two petrol options will be available in showrooms - three of which come with a six-speed manual gearbox and the other a six-speed DSG automatic.

If you are buying a new car, then why not put the icing on the cake with a fantastic satnav?

At Halfords we are currently offering some brilliant savings, with these gadgets starting from under 70.

The Navigon 1200 UK & Ireland Sat Nav is now half price - down from 139.99 to 68.52.ADNFCR-1635-ID-19177319-ADNFCR
