Holts Gun Gum Flexiwrap is rated out of 5 by 9.Rated 5 out of 5 by Bullet80 from Good product Exactly what was I needed when the exhaust pipe parted from the silencer due to heavy rusting 1000 miles later still holds loke newDate published: 2017-07-27Rated 2 out of 5 by KrisFromStevenage from Good maybe on some holes but not to join I bought it in store (if I seen those reciewes here I wouldn't) to fix my exhaust. It started to split next to catalytic box. I cleaned it with wire brush on the dril, supporte pipe from the ground, applied first layer of paste added metal band and added another layer of paste. Left it overnight, (in September, so still quite warm), but after 18h this paste was still soft and was not holding it. Strated up an engine to warm it up and dry quicker but I doubt that will last long. This product is also very messy when applying and also look of it afterwards is very diy'ish. For this type of jobs I was using putty that was changing into metal like material but shame I couldn't get it this time. Avoid if you joining. Maybe ok when sealing smaller holes.Date published: 2016-09-25Rated 1 out of 5 by Mikefromwirral from Not so easy I bought this product to reconnect my exhaust to the header on my bike. The details say it's easy and no mess. Hmmm, firstly just getting the gum out of the tube was not easy. I ended up cutting the tube open just to get at the gum. In the discription it says you don't have to dismantle the exhaust. Hmmmm, well they have obviously never tried using it on a motorcycle. It was nearly impossible to get a good seal because I couldn't get my fingers in the gap. To top it off when I was finally ready to tighten the screw, it broke off. I have not even left it on overnight yet so don't know if it's worked or not. Not getting my hopes up.Date published: 2016-06-27Rated 4 out of 5 by mateyboy from worked OK on crack at join with box to pipe It worked on a thin crack between box and pipe as shown on the packet picture. Maybe it helped that I put paste on crack one day let it harden. Then did the hose/steel bandage the next and added more paste. Then next day added more paste for good measure and a jubilee clip around the other end of the steel bandage. Been a week now of 52 miles per day commute and still fine no blowing. So not as bad as the other reviewsDate published: 2016-05-10Rated 5 out of 5 by spondooley from "Fixed that hole"! Good stuff this, easy to apply. Recommend gloves as can be messy, product still patched the hole in exhaust still...only been on about a month or so, but then I would expect that!! Im using this as a.temporary fix, although if it lasts, its staying on!!Date published: 2015-04-29Rated 2 out of 5 by Matthew94 from didn't work I used this product for the exact usage it was designed for, followed all instructions and made sure it was in correctly, the car was reasonably quieter on the drive home, until 30 miles away when the exhaust dropped off again. Useless, doesn't work, the putty got hard... Then brittle and cracked, causing it to snap off.Date published: 2015-02-08Rated 4 out of 5 by Muzz88888877 from Great product Good product. Does the job. Only problem is the silicon is very thick, impossible to squeeve out of tube, had to cut the end off, so once you do this you have to finish the job properly and throw tube awayDate published: 2015-01-26Rated 1 out of 5 by Anonymous from Waste of time I bought this to repair my exhaust where the pipe meets the middle box. I chose this specifically as it is advertised as a repair kit for exactly my problem. Theres plenty of paste with it which I thought would be good (especially as I used all of it) but it didn't seem to set properly. I fitted the kit as per the instructions, left for 24 hours as advised, then I ran the engine (without revving or driving) for about 15-20 mins just to make sure it was properly set in place as the paste still felt soft to touch. After running the engine the paste appeared to expand and come away from where I needed it to be, but when I drove the car, it did quieten down the noise, but it was still noticeable that there was a blow. This lasted about 20-30 miles, now I'm back to square one with a noisey exhaust that now also makes a rattling noise because the flexiwrap has come away. Don't waste your time, effort or money on this, its useless!! Rant over!!Date published: 2014-07-06
