Rated 3 out of 5 by from It'll do I bought this for heavy use as I work in the motor trade and thought it would come in handy. I've only had it about a week so I can't comment on longevity. It does the job. I've not had it stop or overheat yet but I've only ever pumped up 1 tyre from flat and topped up 3/4 psi on a set of tyres as a maximum. The pressure gauge is not accurate, when you can get it to work. I've found that you first need to switch it on, then connect it to the tyre or it won't read the pressure, sometimes you need to start the pump to get a reading too. IE do not connect to tyre and then switch it on. The reading goes up and down like a yo-yo at times. The hose for it is simply too short. If you've got 19"+ wheels you may have to turn the wheel until the valve is closer to the floor unless you don't mind holding it. It is convenient for having around and topping up tyres that don't need a great accuracy of PSI. If you're looking for accuracy look elsewhere. If you're looking for something that you can chuck around and get some air in a tyre without having to faff around with cigarette lighter sockets then this does the job.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Promises so much but gives up quickly This unit is well made, has bright LED for night time use, the air lead is screw on and not of a very good quality for when using frequently. The main problems are: No good for 4x4 or SUV as cannot pump for long enough to pump up the larger tyres (275/45/20) you have to wait for it to cool down and can only manage to pump one tyre up, the complete opposite to what it says. You sure also limited to max of 40psi which is no good when you have a full load in Range Rovers etc. There is no preset so you have to watch the tyre pressure gauge, which is poor for cost and design, when others half the price have this facility. The description on Michelin site says it can be plugged into car 12v socket, it CAN'T. Takes an age to charge, runs out quick with low pressure large tyres, and even when pumping up Mobility Scooters cannot manage 8 small tyres!the Air lead is to long to reach air valve on tyres without moving car as they can't be reached unless at bottom of tyre. A great opportunity missed, and misold by their own description. This copied off Michelin site "Plugs into standard car 12v auxiliary socket" Rubbish it can't. I wish I could praise the unit more, but the number of faulty units being returned, the fact you can't always get a pressure reading even when holding reset button, that is a poor design fault and could easily have been sorted same as the no preset tyre pressures. Having to pump your tyres up 1.5 psi more than required due to loss of air through screw fittings. Not worth £80.00 not even £50.00 and bottom bar one in this years Autotrader tests on tyre pumps. Give it a miss, or keep receipt handy for refund when it fails.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waste of Money We use this for an air jack and keeping the tyres on the car correct. The first one lasted 3 weeks, used once, would not charge. The second one has lasted almost a year, used 6 times, now will not charge. I still have the cheap one for 5 years ago, that this was the replacement for. Please do not purchase this

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not for a Van! I purchased this to replace a vintage Woollies inflator. It says on the box that its accurate to 1 psi at 50psi, great for my Transit for which the tyres operate at 50psi. It shows a car, a van and a caravan on the box, so should be suitable. Unfortunately, on opening the box and reading the manual, it turns out that it only does 50psi on bicycle tyres, not car or van tyres which are limited to 40psi. So no use for me (I have a bicycle, but I wouldn't want to carry something that heavy around with it). Also, having immediately put it on charge, two days later it was still showing not fully charged, so more than likely the battery was faulty too (lead acid batteries suffer if left in the shop for long periods without a charge). I took it back and Halfords refunded without any problem. I've given it three stars because I expect its fine if you don't need more than 40psi, and the design seems reasonable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good quality product The build quality is good. Easy and intuitive to use. The 12V and USB sockets are an added bonus. Would be useful if the target pressure could be set so the unit would switch off automatically. The unit has a screw thread on the inflation hose, which causes a little air to be lost when removing, but this is easily compensated for with a little over-inflation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the job well I find this faultless, I am not easy to please so say this with no hesitation. Tried the Halfords cheaper model first but found it akward to use, so swapped (and paid more!) for this model. It is a very sturdy well made bit of kit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Decent Product, some things to note..! This is a cordless self powering (once charged of course) tyre inflator, and yes it does do what it says on the box. However, one thing to note is to insure that you press and hold the yellow button next to the PSI display before connecting to your tyre, this is the "reset" feature, otherwise it may not show your actual tyre pressure. If after reset this still does not show your tyre pressure, disconnect, turn off, turn on and reset the button once again, then it should give you your correct tyre pressure and is reasonably accurate. Mine appears to be 1.5 PSI out or so when compared to a non digital gauge I use to check my tyre pressure. It is a good product, do not get frustrated if the digital gauge on this machine does not show correct tyre pressure straight away, just follow the steps in the troubleshooting guide, which is basically what i have described above. -------------------------------------------------- Although this is a rechargeable product, I would have expected for this product to ALSO have a feature to allow it to be operated with no charge, by allowing a connection to a car's 12v socket incase the internal battery fails to hold charge. ------------------------------------------------- Apart from that its an excellent product, just have to know how to use it..!! So far so good, and based on performance thus far i would recommend it.
