Then when the Handel removed found the locating pin missing/damaged. Overall the jack is for people on a budget, and I should know better you get what you pay for. Credit to Halfords, the staff were polite and helpful when I returned for a refund.Date published: 2017-07-22Rated 4 out of 5 by Blake96 from Good. Not low enough. The trolley jack is really good unfortunately mine came broken but was swiftly exchanged for brand new which is amazing. It is lower profile but not by much so i had to use a scissor jack for increased access.Date published: 2017-07-08Rated 4 out of 5 by YouLoveIt from Good product and great value I've had this Trolley Jack for around 3 years now. Throughout this time, it has had no lifting problems at all. I still haven't had to do anything with the oil either. The wheels and other bits have started to get rusty. But it is 3 years old and it's kind of to be expected. But this doesn't effect their performance. My current car is lowered by 60mm, and this jack gets under the car to it's jacking points no problem. It would be nice if the length/reach of this jack was a bit longer, but for the price, I can't complain. With only a short number of pumps, the car gets high enough for me to put the car on jack stands so I can get underneath to do some work. It's compact size though however, does benefit me due to only having a garage with a short width. The jack is quite heavy, but then to me, that spells quality.Date published: 2017-06-15Rated 3 out of 5 by eccobeach from Good value low profile jack I chose this because my 30 odd year old regular trolley jack doesn’t’t fit under my current low set BMW. I’ve only used it once, yesterday, to jack up the car to replace a shock absorber. So I ignored the instructions because I have used a trolley jack before. It was absolute murder to get it to lift the car, must’ve taken me about 10 minutes to jack it up at one jacking point. Only the last inch or so of each stroke on the handle seemed to have any effect and lifted it an almost imperceptible amount. Anyway, got it up enough for axle stands and got the job done. Would’ve preferred it higher but it was too much effort. So after sleeping on it I decided to return it to Halfords as faulty. When I was packing it up I glanced at the instruction sheet which says you’ve to purge it with air before use. Open the valve, pump it 4 times, close valve. I tried that and the jack seems to work okay now. So, fair play, my fault it was torture to use the first time. I’m keeping it because other jacks with a low profile are much more expensive to it’ll do fine.Date published: 2017-05-25Rated 4 out of 5 by TheHiddenOne from Check how high you need to raise your vehicle Although this jack was able to lift a NIssan Qashqui with little effort it was unable to raise the front wheel off the ground using the jacking points. Using the jack under the lower suspension arm may have worked but would have left little space to place an axle stand under the engine rail for safety. Before buying this jack check the height required between the cill and the ground to allow a wheel to rotate is less than 39cm.Date published: 2017-04-22Rated 5 out of 5 by CraftyKev from Superb jack for the price. Bought this jack to use on the caravan. It made the job very easy. Solid piece of kit and great value, I expect I'll use it on the car as well instead of the rather flimsy car jack.Date published: 2017-04-05Rated 3 out of 5 by nonsensenicknamerules from so so As with previous reviewer I agree that low profile is not really an accurate description. Used on a Toyota Avensis to lift front of car to work on front brakes. The handle socket is too high on the jack and when the jack is under the car beneath the jacking point there is no space to allow you to pump the jack. Even when turning the socket to approach from different angles. I ended up using a shorter tool to get it started, then using the provided handle "upside down" until the car was high enough to get a proper push on the handle. This took much longer than it should to simply jack the vehicle up. The socket needs to be low and at the front of the jack. Works fine, just not a great design.Date published: 2017-04-04
