ReviewsLaser Ball Joint Separate Fork 8 8Does what it does I bought this type of seperator as I couldn't get the other screwdown type on the wishbones on my car. This type works well in small spaces. The one I got was made by Laser and seems of reasonable quality and will last for many uses by the looks of things. 5 minutes with a lump hammer and this tool and the wishbones were off. The trouble with this type of remover it's that it's quite brutal and the dust covers rarely survive; as long as you expect that its fine 19 August 2012Too narrow for most applications. I bought this to change the ball joints on a small Citroen Berlingo van. The gao between the prongs was too narrow. The Berlingo doesn't even have wide joints. I had to widen the gap with an axel grinder and then it worked fine. My advice would be to buy the joints first and take them to the store with you to see if joint will fit between the gap. 03 December 2011good tool did what it said on the packet and the service was good too 05 May 2011Simple and effective, but use with caution. This is my favourite type of ball joint splitter. Simple, effective, and fits just about any car or small van you may come across. All the mechanics I know use this type of splitter. Use with caution: if you have not used one of these before, be very certain not to catch the gaiter/boot (that's the rubber protector on the joint) as it is very easy to tear. Be sure to line the tool up carefully before you start hammering away; slapping some multi-purpose grease in there will also help avoid gaiter damage. 01 January 2011Best Purchase Ever I didn't actually but this to seperate a ball joint, but to put pressure on it so i can remove the bolt which was spinning at the end of it! Unfortunately it didn't work. The product does however have a heavy duty feel to it, and I look forward to using it for it's proper purpose in the future! 08 August 2010Garbage I had to take the first one back as it broke on releasing the off side ball joint. Then the replacement broke on releasing the near side. Seems they are single usage. Waste of money and time trekking back and forth whilst trying to get the job done. 29 April 2010OK It splits ball joints so kinda does what it says on the packet 19 March 2010Excellent service Only use a fork when absolutely desperate. It will damage the boot (as I found out). Use a screw type ball joint splitter, which although I had, couldn't get in there to use. Ending up buying a new boot, which are not easy to get hold of. The 'reserve and collect' is an excellent service. Collected, ready and waiting for me in approx. 2 hours. 06 February 20101-8 of 8
