Cabin & Pollen Filter
At Halfords we offer cabin / pollen filters for all cars. All our vehicles’ filters are from leading motoring industry brands such as Bosch and Mann & Hummel, to ensure the parts we provide match the quality or the filters originally fitted to your car.
What is a Cabin / pollen filter in a car?
With a cabin / pollen filter, you’ll experience a more pleasant and comfortable ride, especially during the summer when the pollen count is high. You’ll find the pollen air filter in the engine compartment or cabin, and using an electrostatic paper filter to collect pollen, dirt and debris - prevents them from entering your vehicle. While most vehicles use electrostatic paper, premium models use carbon filters, which also prevent unpleasant smells and fungus from entering the cabin. What’s more, if you live in an urban or industrial area, without proper filtration you could be exposed to harmful toxic gases and air pollution that can cause headaches, nausea, and fatigue.
How often should you change a pollen filter?
As professionals, we recommend that you replace your pollen air filter once a year - or every 10-15,000 miles. However, if you park in an area surrounded by trees, or if you live in a heavily polluted area, it’s advised that you replace it more frequently.
Signs you need to replace the cabin / pollen filter
- 12 months or 10,000 -15,000 miles (whichever sooner) since last change
- Musty smells within vehicle cabin
- Misty windows
