The easiest way to return an item which has been delivered, is to pop into your local store. However , if this isn't possible we can arrange a collection by courier at a cost of £7. You can also post the item sealed in the original box to Halfords National Returns Centre, Icknield Street Drive, Washford West, Redditch, Worcestershire, B98 0DE. All returns are subject to our Returns policy and must be returned within 28 days.

Click and Collect orders are held for 7 days before the order is put back into stock by the store. You'll receive a reminder text letting you know that your reservation is due to expire, giving you the option to text back to extend or cancel. Alternatively, you can contact the store where your order is reserved to make amendments such as extending the collection date.

I need to change the address on my order

Unfortunately, we are unable to amend the details of your order once it has been submitted. If there is important information missing from a delivery address, such as house number or post code, then despite not being able to directly amend the address, we are able to pass this information to the courier prior to them delivering your parcel. In some circumstances, if we are unable to contact the courier, we can request cancellation of the delivery and return the parcel to sender (RTS).

We do! In order for us to be able to Price Match against a competitor, we need to ensure a few things:

  • The Retailer's item is identical in size, colour etc and is currently in stock.
  • The Retailer's price includes delivery but doesn't include any personal/membership discounts
  • The Retailer is based in the UK and sells directly to customers
  • The competitor's item must be in stock for home delivery, or for collection at a store within a 30 mile radius at the time of match.
  • We will match in store if our online price is lower than our store price. This applies to Click & Collect orders only, not home / work delivery.

Complete Savings is a third-party company which offered cashback for online purchases. It was a membership programme that offered regular online shoppers many money saving benefits. Please note that the promotion with Complete Savings has now ended. If for any reason you need to return your Halfords purchase, we will happily refund or exchange it, provided it is within 28 days of delivery, in its original packaging and with proof of purchase. If you have had an item delivered to you, you can return an item for free at any of our stores, but if you choose to return by post you'll need to cover the cost of postage. A courier can be arranged to collect the item from you and the cost for this would be deducted from the refund of the item returned. However, if the item you're returning is faulty, we'll refund the postage once we've received the item and confirmed the fault. Satellite Navigation, DVDs, memory cards and computer software can only be exchanged if faulty or if returned unused with the original seal and wrapping intact. Personalised products and made-to-order products such as mixed paint or number plates cannot be returned unless faulty. When returning items for a refund that were bought online as part of a promotional offer such as ‘Buy One, Get One Free', 'Buy One, Get One Half Price', '3 for 2', or Buy A, Get B Free', ALL of the items involved in the offer must be returned.

If you've bought something from us and the price has been reduced within seven days of the purchase date, you can return the item to your local store for a refund of the difference.

All of our batteries come with a warranty, and the length of this warranty is printed on the label on the front of the battery, whether it be for 3, 4 or 5 years, or a Lifetime warranty. Please bear in mind that Lifetime warranty refers to the lifetime of the vehicle and not the customer, and only applies to the battery supplied. Batteries used in a commercial or professional application, such as taxis, driving instructors, emergency services, works vehicles, etc., are not covered by the full term of the warranty but instead come with a 6 month warranty. Motorbike and scooter batteries are covered by a 12 month warranty.

Most Halfords Superstores are able to offer a windscreen repair service should you require it. A repair is defined as filling in a chip no greater than 10mm in diameter within MOT Zone A, which is the area covered by the window wipers, or a chip no greater than 40mm in diameter within Zone B, the area outside the wiper blade coverage. We conduct a full inspection to confirm that we’re able to make the repairs to our satisfaction. If we find additional chips in close proximity that indicate damage occurred at the same time, we’ll make the repairs as part of the flat fee. If we find chips in other areas of the windscreen likely to have occurred at other times, these will be charged as additional repairs. The chip repair we carry out is covered by a non-transferable warranty for as long as you own the vehicle.

Yes they do - the gift card expires after 24 months. If it hasn't been used during this time, the balance will be gone!

If you're lucky to look young enough, we'll need to take a look at your driving licence or passport to ensure you're old enough.

Halfords takes it’s responsibility as a retailer of age restricted products seriously. We recognise that some products we sell, such as knives/blades, spray paints and solvent based products can be harmful if misused or have a damaging influence in the community.

These restrictions are required by law and Halfords does not currently permit online sales of age restricted products direct to a customers home, place of work or other address.

It is still possible to order and then collect age restricted products from any Halfords store. This allows age verification to be made in the store and is in keeping with the Halfords Challenge 25 policy.

We are unable to fit any vehicle-related products that haven’t been bought at Halfords because of potential problems with warranty concerns. This includes stereos, speakers, subwoofers, amplifiers, dash cams, sat navs, DAB add-ons, parking cameras, number plates, light bulbs, wiper blades, oils & amp additives, roof boxes and cycle carriers.

Grey imports are where a retailer has imported an item which was not originally intended for the market it is being sold in. Though the retailer may offer their own warranty service, there will be no official UK warranty support from the manufacturer should anything go wrong with a grey import.

Unfortunately, we do not accept Tesco Clubcard vouchers as a method of payment in either our retail or Autocentre stores.

Will I get a receipt with my contactless payment?

Yes, a receipt will be issued for all card payments, unless you choose otherwise.

Will the contactless payment method show on the receipt?

Absolutely, the receipt will show the payment method.

What is the contactless PHONE payment transaction limit?

Unlike physical card payments, there isn’t a blanket maximum limit of 30/30. Having said that, high ticket purchases may be limited by your bank, according the type of card used.

When will contactless not be accepted by the PED?

The PIN Entry Device evaluates each card when making a payment,and will decide what payment methods and limits are offered at the time. Contactless may not by authorised for certain cards or under certain conditions. If this is the case, we can offer our normal chip & pin method.

Can contactless payments be taken if the PED is offline?

Yes, the PIN Entry Device can take payments offline, and will store them until a connection is made. However, the cardholder may decide that the payment system needs to be online to complete the purchase.

Can a customer use their contactless method for a refund?

Yes, this is fine provided it's the original payment method.

What type of contactless cards will work?

MasterCard, Visa and American Express (AMEX) contactless cards are accepted. However, please not that AMEX contactless cards are currently not supported in the Republic of Ireland.

Are Our Water Bottles BPA Free?

Yes, all the water bottles sold by Halfords are BPA-free.

So what is BPA?

Bisphenol A (BPA) is a chemical used in the manufacture of polycarbonate plastic. It’s strong and clear properties make it good for use in drinks bottles and sports equipment. Epoxy resins containing BPA can be used in the lining of water pipes, coatings and on ready made food containers, hot drink cups and thermal paper such as those found in shop tills.

Why is it being avoided?

BPA has qualities which mimic oestrogen and can affect people's hormones if consumed in a significantly large quantity. BPA has a very low absorption in water and other liquids, and its short half-life absorption rate in the body means it has been declared as safe by EFSA, US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the UK Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Andrew Wadge, chief scientist of the Food Standards Agency commented on a 2011 US Study on dietary exposure of adult humans to BPA, saying that it corroborates other independent studies and adds to the evidence that BPA is rapidly absorbed, detoxified and eliminated from humans therefore is not a health concern.

The Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) form is a document which shows the specifications and measurements we've built your bike to. It’s a formal declaration that the bike has been assembled in accordance with the instructions and our assessor's satisfaction. And, it’s your guarantee that you're taking away a well-built and safe bike.

Certain products have legal age restrictions limits on them. It's against the law to sell items which are age restricted to those who are under that age limit. To help us protect our customers, we operate a Think 25 policy - if our colleagues believe you look underage, you will be asked to provide ID.

Pre-authorisation is the practice within the banking industry of authorising electronic transactions made with a debit or credit card. This balance is held as unavailable, either until the merchant confirms the transaction or is no longer needed. The pre-authorisation is not a charge and no funds have been debited from your account. The funds will not be taken from your method of payment until your order has been dispatched.

Voucher codes can only be used online but can’t be redeemed in store. In the basket, click on the link titled 'Add Voucher Code' and enter the code before clicking 'Apply Code' to deduct the discount. The item must match the category for the specific code. Voucher codes cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer or on a bundle deal.

Invoices for home or work deliveries are automatically provided by email approximately 24 hours after the goods have been dispatched -this would normally be the same day the item is being delivered.This receipt will have a full VAT breakdown, and is sent as an Adobe Acrobat PDF file.

If you should ever need to make a claim against your insurance, insurance companies will give customers an Insurance Replacement voucher to pay for any item which may have been stolen or damaged in a collision (for example, to replace a car seat). This is rather than cash or bank transfer in an effort to reduce the possibility of fraud. Insurance Replacement vouchers can only be redeemed in-store.

Under the terms of 'Legitimate Interests' which are contained within the GDPR, we are permitted to offer a survey to customers who have shopped In store with us. A website cookie is a very small text file that can be stored on your computer when you visit a web page. Cookies are used to help you navigate the website and to enhance your experience whilst on the website; they enable a website to tailor information presented to you based on your browsing preferences.

Certain products are covered by ADR regulations. These may be explosive, corrosive or hazardous to the environment . ADR regulations govern what substances can be carried by road and what materials are used to store those items. They're split into two main categories - Dangerous by Quantity and ADR Restricted. Delivery drivers carrying these items must be ADR certified to transport them and therefore some items may not be eligible for delivery.

Currently, there is no British law which states that you must wear a crash helmet while riding a bicycle. It is highly recommended that you always wear a bike helmet though, regardless of how short or long your journey.

It’s possible to select a maximum quantity of 9 of an item at a time. To increase the quantity you can add more than one line of an item, so for example to order 20 of one item, add the item 3 times, then choose 9 for the first, 9 for the second and 2 for the third. The Consumer Contract is a set of regulations designed to protect customers who buy an item without seeing it - for example if ordered online or phone. It entitles you to a longer period of time to return the goods amongst other things.

Customers have until the 31st of January to return your unwanted Christmas items, if bought after the 1st October. You can either exchange them for another item or gift card if presented with a gift receipt, or receive a refund with a full receipt.

We use recyclable and recycled plastics wherever possible and are committed to continually improving how we manage our environmental impact. We consult with Greenpeace and RECOUP to support our strategy for the future which includes everything from transportation, packaging and how we can reduce our single use plastic consumption.

We accept all major debit and credit cards, contactless, Apple Pay and Android Pay, and gift vouchers in-store. We also accept PayPal online.

We endeavour to keep our delivery prices as low as possible however, certain postcode areas are subject to an additional surcharge. This covers the costs set by our couriers that we’ve been unable to include in the price of the product. This additional postcode surcharge is shown on the final payment screen, after the delivery address has been entered.

We offer five levels of cover for your car, van, and motorbike, and all policy holders qualify for exclusive Halfords benefits including half price MOT and 10% off Servicing.

On the Halfords Breakdown Cover website, customers can view policy documents, change their personal details, change an existing vehicle, add a new vehicle, upgrade vehicle cover and renew a policy. Customers can also print discount vouchers for work carried out at Halfords and Halfords Autocentres.

Halfords Breakdown Cover also covers bikes as standard. Should your bike become immobile, a driver will take you to the nearest Halfords store to get the bike repaired.

Parcels can be collected from Halfords stores by DPD by using their Pickup service. DPD have set out their specifications of the parcels that are acceptable which you can find here.

Halfords has several warehouse locations, also some of our items come directly from a vendor. Orders which have multiple items coming from different locations will be sent as several different packages and multiple couriers may be used for delivery. Where possible, items will be packaged together to minimise the number of deliveries. Where multiple items have been ordered, we'll only add one delivery charge if applicable.

If you are expecting a delivery by DPD from a 3rd party company, you can now choose to have your parcel delivered to a Halfords store, to collect at your convenience. The collection ID code is sent from DPD via email and text message and must be presented on collection plus one form of photo ID; a passport or driving licence for example. Without either of these proofs of ID, its not possible to release the parcel. These are the only forms of identification acceptable.

The majority of our items need to be signed for on delivery. If it's possible, our courier's drivers may attempt to leave it safe with an immediate neighbour or opposite your property. If a signature is required, then the driver won't leave the parcel without one, even if it is safe to do so.

For larger items, we use Parcelforce for our deliveries. If the order is too heavy for Parcelforce, there is a service called DX 2-Man, which is designed to carry much larger and heavier items. Parcelforce delivery allows for a maximum of 30Kg per single item (ie, part of a tool chest) or 80Kg for the total order (ie, the total tool chest bundle). DX 2-Man delivery covers up to a maximum of 80Kg per single item (with no lower weight limit. DX 2-Man delivery has a lead time of 3 working days, but can increase to 5 days in poor weather conditions or circumstances beyond their control.

Unfortunately, we're unable to deliver items outside mainland UK and Northern Ireland. This is because Halfords no longer participates in the Retail Export Scheme which would allow us to receive the VAT refund on good exported out of the country. Warranties are only valid in the UK for Halfords products. Non-Halfords products can be supported by local dealers and we can assist you in finding a local stockist.

Sadly, it's not possible to select a delivery time slot for orders. Our couriers will usually deliver between 9am and 6pm with Standard Next Day Delivery. However, there can be occasions where deliveries may be attempted pre-9am and up to 8pm during busy times of the year such as Christmas. If the item you have purchased is from an outside supplier, this can take up to 5 working days to arrive.

If you require a refund for a purchase made using a non-Halfords gift card, this can be refunded in the form of a Halfords gift card for the equivalent amount or if preferable, as cash. Our standard Returns Policy applies in all cases.

If you are returning an item, either because it’s not suitable or faulty, we offer the right to a refund. During the refund process, we take your name, address and postcode. This is part of our Refunds Policy and is designed to protect our customers by preventing and detecting criminal or fraudulent activity. All information is stored in accordance with the GDPR.

A full refund on a bike purchased can only be issued if the bike is unused. Any indication of wear will be deducted from the refund.

The warranty on all Halfords incandescent vehicle light bulbs is a standard 12 month warranty. This includes the 9011 HiR1 and 9012 HiR2 bulbs. This warranty offers replacement light bulbs which can be offered twice within a 12 month period, with no re-start of the warranty. If more than two bulbs blow in 12 months we would advise having your car's electrical systems checked. Please note that the exceptions to these warranties are the range of LED super bright bulbs which can be used off-road which have a warranty period of five years. HID bulbs have a warranty period of three years. If you paid to have the bulbs fitted at the time, we'll also happily replace them free of charge.

All of our Halfords branded locks carry a 1-year warranty. This covers defects which stop the lock from working. The warranty doesn't cover against wear and tear, non-defective rusting or as insurance against theft. Certain models from premium brands Magnum and Kryptonite carry lifetime guarantees - you'll need to register on-line with the manufacturer to take advantage of this, and any claims you'd make would need to be made with the manufacturer. This does not affect your statutory rights.

If you do have to exchange an item that has a valid warranty, you are not issued with a new warranty. Instead the original warranty continues. For example, if you were to bring back a faulty stereo after eight months and it has a 12-month warranty, the new stereo (providing it’s the same model) will be covered under the original warranty for the remaining four months - it will not have a 12-month warranty of its own. This does not affect your statutory rights at all. If for any reason the second item develops a fault after six months when the original warranty will have expired, you should still be able to make a claim with us under the Consumer Rights Act if need be.

Karcher warranties cover their Home and Garden machines in domestic use. Any commercial use of the product will immediately void any warranty. In order for the warranty to be active, you'll need to register your product at kaercher.com. Please note that Karcher warranties are split into 30 day exchange with the retailer, and the remainder of the term is a Return-To-Base repair. The unit can either be collected from the store should you take it in, or from a home or work address if this is preferable. During this time, neither Halfords or Karcher are under any obligation to provide a loan unit while the faulty unit is being repaired. For more information, please contact Karcher directly.

All BikeHut branded repair tools are covered by a no-quibble Lifetime warranty, and can be replaced by popping into any store. We may not always carry spares of your tool, but we'll order it and get it to you as soon as we can, usually around three working days. Please note that this covers normal use and not misuse, and is not applicable to BikeHutcleaning tools which are covered by a 12 month guarantee.

If you believe your car stereo is faulty and is out of warranty we use a company called AEL (Advanced Electronics & Logistics) to assist in inspecting the device. This service costs £25+VAT, and is waived if a manufacturer fault had been identified and repaired. The repair cost will be dependent on the work carried out. If a manufacturer defect is identified the repair cost is waived. However, if the problem is found to be as a result of wear and tear the this cost is covered by the customer. Just bring the unit in-store and we will arrange getting it to and from AEL.

MBI Autoguard offer warranties which can be purchased in dealerships for new and second hand cars, motorbikes, caravans and motorhomes. Any remedial work is done at a Halfords Autocentres including audio equipment repairs up to the value of £500.

There are occasions when further Ts&Cs apply that may prevent British Cycling and Cycling UK being used in conjunction with other offers, such as Buy One Get One Free or 3 for 2, please see below. However, this does mean that, unless stated otherwise, British Cycling and Cycling UK can normally be used with everyday promotional offers such as automatic Price Matches.

For example, if we had ‘Half Price on Kids Bikes’ running, the discount could normally be used with that, as it’s an offer, not a voucher – the only exception would be if the T&C’s of that particular offer specifically excluded it from being used with other offers; see below for more information.

While we do our absolute best to remain competitive in the market, sometimes it is possible that another retailer sells the same item slightly cheaper. In order to offer you the best value possible, we're happy to offer a Price Matching service so you can get the lowest price.

If you find a cheaper price online or in-store we'll match it, and if you find it after you've purchased from us we'll refund the difference within 7 days of purchase. Please note that we do price match Amazon when they are selling the product directly but we don't price match Amazon Marketplace sellers.

Simply take a print out of the competitor's online price into any Halfords store ensuring the date and price are shown, or show our colleagues the price on your smartphone, and we will match the competitor price if within policy. The item must be in stock at their nearest store, within a 30 mile radius, and not marked as a clearance item.

We can also price match items for home delivery if you contact Customer Support, providing the order number and link for the price you wish to match; we can either adjust the price on the item before the payment is taken, or refund the difference if the payment has already been taken. In both cases, we can match the price either at the time that the order was placed or up to 7 days from receiving the order.
