Halfords Essentials Track Pump is rated out of 5 by 13.Rated 2 out of 5 by Anonymous from One shot pump with awful instructions. Maybe I shouldn't be so awful with anything bike related but I am and this pump didn't help the matter. The green insert of the pump was damaged after one use. I admit, I little force was used but it seemed to disintegrate the pump. The instructions were awful and for a newbie like myself, it just confused me even more. I wouldn't recommend this pump. Splash out on one with a guage etc because now I'm having to buy a new pump head.Date published: 2018-08-27Rated 2 out of 5 by Colin2355 from Terrible instructions Thank goodness that I looked on here and found that some kind soul had described how to set it up. The instructions are a disgrace and Halfords need to put them right.Date published: 2018-06-22Rated 3 out of 5 by Robb92 from Worst instructions in the history of mankind As others have pointed out, the instructions are absolutely useless. Seriously guys, you might as well have just put a doodle of an elephant on there because they explain nothing. Having wasted a good few hours trying to decipher what resembles some sort of alien hieroglyph, and is in NO way a set of instructions, I in a fit of rage came on here to leave a review and found that someone else on here has actually figured out how to use it. I can only assume the diagrams mean something to the person who designed the pump, because even knowing how to use it I still can't see how they bear any resemblance to what is involved!Date published: 2018-06-12Rated 4 out of 5 by Emmasweety69 from Works fine although... ...takes a bit time to figure out how for Schrader valves! You need to unscrew the top, pull out the rubber connector with a small screwdriver or similar and THEN also the blue connector behind. Reverse the blue connector so the pointed end points outwards, refit inside the casing. Do the same with the rubber connector so larger hole outwards - push it hard back in so that the blue point comes through. THEN to inflate your tyre, first put the plastic top on the valve, fit the pump head securely on with lever in horizontal position. Push down and screw top on anticlockwise. You will hear air escaping until you force the lever up to the vertical position. Pump away. Push lever down again and remove whole thing swiftly so tyre doesnt deflate.Date published: 2018-05-15Rated 3 out of 5 by Anonymous from Instructions difficult to understand! Bought this item yesterday and it took me roughly 25 minutes to figure out how the to make it pump a Presta valve. You need to unscrew the end cap from the pump valve. Inside there will be a rubber gasket, you need to take the gasket out and then the blue/green plastic insert will fall out. Turn the plastic insert the opposite way and same with the rubber gasket. Screw the cap back on and it will not be usable with Presta valves. The instructions are almost useless and this was found out just by frustration more than knowledge. Hope this helps anyone who's bought it and thinks it doesn't do what it's supposed to!Date published: 2018-03-23Rated 1 out of 5 by Ems18 from Terrible It says that it's easy to use - definitely NOT. I have not been able to work mine and it has been such a waste of money and time.Date published: 2018-03-14Rated 1 out of 5 by Jack1987 from Do not buy. I bought this yesterday thinking it would be fine as a bike pump is a bike pump. Used this on a Presta valve but didn’t even work at all. I even tried with a Schrader adapter but that wouldn’t connect to the pump. Don’t waste your money on this at all.Date published: 2018-02-25Rated 1 out of 5 by smiler71 from worst money can buy The worst pump money can buy, dont even fit/work, more chance using my mouth, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!Date published: 2017-04-25
