Boardman ADV 8.9 Mens Adventure Bike
The Boardman ADV 8.9 Mens Adventure Bike has the same frame and geometry as the ADV 8.8 but increases the potential with upgraded features. Taking the fast rolling features of a road bike the ADV bikes have a more forgiving geometry that allows a more upright riding position. Gears and gear choice are improved courtesy of the Shimano Tiagra 20 speed, whilst your ability to control the bike off round are enhanced by flared bars for increased stability and the impressive stopping power of Shimano hydraulic disc brakes. The Boardman ADV 8.9 Mens Adventure Bike gives you the ultimate Adventure Road cycling experience. As with the ADV8.8 this bike can also double up as a great commuting bike and in this brilliant colour scheme you will certainly be noticed!

Boardman ADV 8.9 Mens Adventure Bike is rated out of 5 by 4.Rated 5 out of 5 by silverfoxdude from Boardman ADV 8.9 review I have now had this bike 1 week and done my first 100miles on and off road. when you first ride it you notice the steering is heavy compared to a road bike but you soon get used to it. you also feel its a little heavy when out of the saddle but when sat down its just like a road bike but more comfortable. Only gripe is that Boardman don't do a full carbon version with a sram force 1 groupset.Date published: 2018-06-08Rated 5 out of 5 by Jones25677 from Great Value bike. Good all round performance. Got this when it was on sale for 900 pounds. Agile enough on the roads and nice and fun off road. Hydraulic stopping power is great and tiagra groupset provides responsive and sharp gear changes. Even comes ready to setup tubeless which I'd reccomed doing.Date published: 2018-05-14Rated 5 out of 5 by OKCommuter from Good 'all rounder' bike for the price Purchased on bike to work scheme, chose this instead of intended purchase as spec was good for the price and hydraulic disc brakes clinched it. Using it a commuter bike mainly on road with the odd trip along South Down Way as fair weather alternative route. Covered about 400 miles (30 off road) with only needing to change to longer stem to suit my position, although you can flip the original 90mm stem to get 8 deg rise, but I need 20 mm more length too. Only marginal difference to my road bike on road in terms of speed, 90% as quick. Off road it will do the job but it’s no replacement for a mountain bike with suspension on the big hills, really is more of a gravel bike but does the job although if there’s a road alternative you’ll chose it ! No problems with the bike, it’s been reliable so far. Only gripe is it comes boxed which I wasn’t expecting, had to walk back home and get the car ! The Steering column was too long / did not have enough spacers to tighten the headset, and the bottom brackets needs spacing out more as the chain rubs on the big chain ring when on small chain ring and highest gear at the back, these factory assembly issues I can easily resolve so not a big problem.Date published: 2018-05-11Rated 5 out of 5 by nerkie from Absolute belter. Ok, so this is in no way a long term test review, however i've just done my first commute (6 1/2 miles), this was on road and along a river towpath and this bikle absolutely smashed it on both, i've just come from a team carbon and on the road this feels just as good, off road it flew along the towpath, this really is an allrounder which i'd totally recommend. The only thing i would say is the steering is a bit heavy but i have just come from 25mm to 33mm tyres.Date published: 2018-04-20
