Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst Customer Service Experience ive had I purchased a bike priced at £999.99 no one told me that the bike was safe explained anything about the bike i had to almost beg for guidance after having explained that ive never owned a bike in my life. the bare minimum is to explain the product that is being sold and assuring its safety especially at such a hefty price

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Windscreen wiper success! I was prompted into buying wiper blades when the squeaking became unbearable. I hadn't realised how poor my visibility had become until the new ones were fitted. Great product fitted by helpful and super efficient member of staff who came out in the rain to fit - with a smile!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One very bad, one very good! I came in today to buy a replacement headlamp bulb. I parked in the car park and removed the failed bulb and went into the store. I found what I thought was a matching bulb and then went to the counter to pay. There was a woman with her child speaking to a gentleman behind the payment counter so I stood at a mark on the floor a little distance away from the counter. Also behind the counter was a young woman, who was laying with her head on her folded arms on the desk in front of her. She noticed me and just said "Here!" while gesturing to the gap in the corner of the screens that surrounded her and her colleague. I placed the bulb onto the counter and she asked me if I wanted a receipt, I confirmed that I did. I asked her if the bulb I was purchasing was the same as the one I had removed from the vehicle. Without really paying any attention at all she said "yea." The payment was processed, a receipt was placed on the counter in front of me, without further eye contact or another word spoken, and I left to install it into my headlamp. After fitting the bulb I checked all of the lights and noticed that I had a side-light not working. I removed the blown bulb, returned to the store and purchased a replacement. By this time the 'engaging' young woman had been replaced by a colleague. After fitting the new bulb I went to start my car but, due to leaving the lights on for too long, the battery did not have enough charge remaining to start the engine. I walked back into the store and was greeted by a gentlemen who asked if he could help me. Although a little embarrassed at my stupidity, I asked if he had a jump-pack to help me start my car. Without hesitation he said "Yes, of course" while changing direction and heading behind a counter to collect it. He asked me where the car was and followed me into the car park. Less than a minute later my engine was running and I was offering my appreciation for the assistance given. I am sorry to say that, each experience in isolation would not have prompted me to give this review. I recognise that this is unfair as the gentleman who assisted me with the jump-pack is an ambassador of your business and deserves the positive feedback as he provided excellent customer service, which I imagine for him, is just him doing his job. When compared to the uninterested and unprofessional young woman, the difference your customers experience is remarkable. Businesses everywhere are experiencing tough times and I know that Halfords are not immune from the fall-out of the recent and ongoing difficulties. In times like this you need your employees to be doing their best to provide a good customer experience and keep them returning. I don't expect much, just some eye contact and a polite manner and I am a happy customer. Hats off to the helpful gentleman (sorry, I regret that I did not get his name) and I hope that he has a long and fast developing career with your business as it is people like him that make the difference. The 'Quality' rating that follows is as a result of his help and the 'Service' selected is for assisting me with the jump-pack, not battery fit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Helpful and well informed I bought the bike a month ago and collected it a week later, ready to go. They are also fixing an old bike up for me and keep me informed. There is a backlog and lots of queues at the moment but it has been possible to work around these busy times with advice from the staff.
