Holts Cataloy Knifing Putty 100g is rated out of 5 by 28.Rated 5 out of 5 by G1Gaz from Used correctly and for the right end use, this is really good As long as you use this for ultra thin applications to fill pin holes in fillers, paint scratches, small paint defects and other slight bodywork paint and filler defects, then this putty is really good. Please don't though apply this to fill greater holes or defects as the putty not only takes a long time to set off but is not as stable as main stream large area fillers when applied to a deep depth. I've only used this recently to finish the fine filler process to bodywork and fill pin holes and slight filler scratches and this works really well.Date published: 2018-11-09Rated 4 out of 5 by Swellard from Good product might be misleading to some users This putty works well when used for its specific purpose. Just to confirm this product is for filling very small holes and scratches. It is not to be used instead of filler. Infact the main use of this product is for skimming over filler to fill pinholes and any small scratches that haven’t been sanded out with fine sandpaper as a last step before using primer. The instructions are far to vauge and although it works as it should when used correctly i ca confirm that it takes far to long to go hard and even longer to cure before it can be sanded. This product really needs to have better directions (it hardly has any) printed on the package as allot of people will and it seems have bought this product instead of body filler, only to find out that when applied any thinker than a thin skim l, it will not cure and stays soft.Date published: 2018-08-28Rated 1 out of 5 by Tyke46 from Putty is the right word It never dried hard but remained soft like putty. Wasted hours of daylight and had to remove and restart the job.Date published: 2018-08-11Rated 5 out of 5 by Anonymous from Great product! Many reviews criticize this product. It is only intended to 'skim' over minor imperfections or as a top filler on existing filler applied to deeper dents and damage. It dries onto other filler more effectively. Have just used on a plastic bumper repair having used 'Plastic Bumper Filler' first. Once sanded and 'shaped' Holts Knifing Putty was then applied to fill minor imperfections. All small 'pitting' and 'sanding grooves' have filled with one application about 2mm thick without issue. The product dried within an hour and was sanded with fine grade wet and dry to get a perfect finish. Filler primer or standard primer will do the rest before painting. Brilliant finish and good quality putty - previously known as 'knifing filler / stopper'Date published: 2018-08-01Rated 1 out of 5 by Alex9611 from Didn't work for me Used this on a rust repair after a primary filler l, followed the instructions but when it come to sanding it level it was hard to remove.Date published: 2018-06-25Rated 2 out of 5 by hdunnit from Not fit for purpose. Left 24 hours to dry and then it just comes off when you sand it. If you leave less than 24 hours it is still wet and ruins the primer. Complete waste of time. Will have to do everything all over again. Get some filler and don't waste your time.Date published: 2018-05-27Rated 1 out of 5 by Coyle77 from Waste of time Tried using this to fill a minor dent it didn’t cure/dry at all and I had to remove it all, it was still softDate published: 2018-03-18Rated 1 out of 5 by eringo99 from Horrid stuff - will ruin everything ! Nasty stuff, should not be on the shelf, goes on horribly sticky and goes all gummy, took off my aged primer and had to redo everything all over again, had to go back to metal and remove my cured filler too. Only bought it to fill pinholes over filler, should have just used filler - you live and learn, YOU have been warned, should have read the reviews!!!Date published: 2017-09-23
