Boardman CX Team Bike - 50, 53, 55.5, 57.5cm Frames is rated out of 5 by 57.Rated 5 out of 5 by Earthdog58 from Great winter bike Not sure why Halfords ask for a review after a week, but never mind. Brought this as a winter bike for country lanes that have a fair degree of loose gravel and mud. For that it is ideal, gearing isn't close but then you soon adaptDate published: 2017-12-12Rated 5 out of 5 by manco from Awesome Bike This is a revelation a proper full on racing bike with the best gearing system I've used for some time. Yes they can be a bit clunky but hardly noticable to be honest and it doesn't bother me in the slightest. Have covered 200 miles between many rides and love it. Never run out of peddle downhill and the first cog is perfect for steep uphills. I fitted schwelbe marathon plus tyres to mine straight away so can't comment on the standard ones. Very impressed all round. If your more a serious cyclinst IE time trial and hard core distance then sure maybe you'll need something a bit more upmarket and shimano ULTEGRA but for commuting, or weekend cycle rides up to 50/60km mark its spot on.Date published: 2017-12-05Rated 4 out of 5 by Discoinferno2006 from Smart looking bike Having read many reviews and studied the spec,I believe the bike to be great value. Bikes by other brands of a similar spec are as much as £300 more Having mainly ridden MTB I was expecting the ride to be uncomfortable not having suspension but I have been surprised how comfortable the bike is. Good Bike good valueDate published: 2017-12-03Rated 4 out of 5 by VeryDisappointed1 from Excellent bike , appalling customer service. The bike is fantastic and excellent value. It is quite amazing the quality of the components given the modest purchase price. It is just a pity the customer service was so poor in the Llanelli store.Date published: 2017-11-16Rated 5 out of 5 by Dandy123 from Fantastic do it all bike Superb all round bike. Have done 500 miles so far on this and seriously cannot fault it. Have not had to change anything, seat tyres, etc great quality. Gear shifting hydraulic brakes faultless, tryes roll as good as expected on a all round tyre. Light and nimble ride, I have the 57.5 xl. I am 6ft 2 inch and fits perfect. Have covered Road canal track fun go anywhere machine. I have owned and ridden many bikes over years of cycling, and have never enjoyed a bike such as this. I would also like to add the professional service I received from the Tamworth store ventura Park, all the lads there know there bikes as they are into cycling and are very knowledgeable.Date published: 2017-11-06Rated 1 out of 5 by RMarkG from Broken Pedal after 30 miles It seemed a good value bike, but after 30 miles the right pedal fell off, Halfords In Connswater are replacing it but I am not impressed. I was enjoying the bike, but...Date published: 2017-10-22Rated 5 out of 5 by Fiscal from Brilliant bike Can’t say too much because I’ve only had the bike a week and covered 40 miles. It’s an amazing bike and I’m very happy with it.Date published: 2017-10-18Rated 3 out of 5 by blitzy from Not enough gears. Overall this is a good quality ride. Comfortable with smooth gear changes and super brakes, at first glance it seems ideal. However for me this has one flaw that cannot be rectified easily and that is the single chainring. I bought the bike after much doubt about the single chainring but all the reviews said it was OK. However soon after getting mine I took it out for a ride, deliberately taking in some steep hills and found myself desperately pushing the shifter for more gears. Gears that weren't there. This bike may be OK for those living in flat areas but if you're going out into the North Pennines then you will be left wanting for lower gears. The frustrating thing is that the only solution is to fit a smaller chainring and that means no speed on the flat. The other bad feature is the PF30 bottom bracket. These should never have been invented, they are the worst bottom bracket ever. Nothing will stop them creaking. Overall it's a good bike spoiled.Date published: 2017-10-16
