Carrera Subway 2 Hybrid Bike - 18", 20", 22" Frames is rated out of 5 by 26.Rated 5 out of 5 by Paulc67 from Great bike for general use Very pleased with this bike - good spec, good quality and a reasonable price.Date published: 2018-03-05Rated 5 out of 5 by PhysicsBoy from Brillient Bike!! This is the second Subway I have owned. My last one had done nearly four thousand miles over three years (not bad for 250 quid!) and I thought it was time to treat myself to another one. This time I opted for the Subway 2 rather than the Subway 1 as I was interested to see what the extra refinements are like (hydraulic rather than mechanical breaks and slightly different gears set). It is very similar to the Subway 1, the only noticeable thing being that the breaks are even sharper. The mechanical disc brakes of the Subway 1 were very good but these are even better - brilliant for stopping. There is lots more I could say about this bike but the long of the short of it is that it is a great cruiser for urban areas. The ride is comfortable, the tyres give enough grip but offer some speed and it pretty bomb proof.Date published: 2018-02-26Rated 5 out of 5 by Tim0000 from Cracking Value A very impressive bike, particularly when you consider what it cost me. It's the first bike I've ever owned with 27.5inch wheels, my first hybrid and indeed the first machine without suspension for a very long time. But I have not been disappointed. The bike provides a smooth ride, amply aided aided by effective brakes and superb gear changes. The finish looks to be robust and beautifully under-stated. Would I recommend this bike? Without any hesitation; not only fantastic value for money, but also a very good bicycle.Date published: 2018-02-23Rated 5 out of 5 by ICE123223432 from Good bike for the price! Not an avid or experienced cyclist, was just looking to upgrade my 22 YO MTB to something of a lighter weight, & with a frame size that was too small. The components appear to be of a good quality, & the overall package is good to ride. My only gripe....although the Subway 2 was £280 when I bought it, & the slightly inferior Subway 1 £300.....the following day, the Subway 1 was reduced to £240. I was advised that the reduced price for the Subway 2 was due to end the following day. By the same token, I would have hoped ethics would have allowed Halfords to have told me that the Subway 1 was due to reduced by £60 the following day, as it would have been adequate for my needs. I did complain on line, but had no response......Date published: 2018-02-20Rated 4 out of 5 by Bagoas from A lot of bike for the money I purchased my Carrera Subway 2 a couple of weeks ago. It is a comfortable and light bike that rides very well, although the hydraulic brakes could be better (I have to pull very hard to stop quickly). 27 gears make for easy riding on pretty much any terrain or gradient, and the paddle shift means that I can change gear without having to compromise my grip on the handlebars.Date published: 2018-02-17Rated 5 out of 5 by Katys06 from I love this bike Brought this bike to commute to and from work and it’s great! Haven’t actually managed to get on it much with the weather but the time I’ve spent on it I’ve loved. Breaks take a little getting used to but again love them. I’ve not found a fault to anything yet. As I novice biker I was worried about learning how to change gear but it’s dead simpleDate published: 2018-02-13Rated 5 out of 5 by Chazza63 from Great bike This is a great bike for the price. Completed the trans pennine trail no problem. Only thing i changed was the tyres. I put some shwalbe marathon plus on just to be safe from punctures.Date published: 2018-01-28Rated 5 out of 5 by Squarehead from Great value for money Picked up the 22" bike and just taken it out for it's first test. The bike is light and very responsive. For the money I am surprised how good this feels.. Gear changing is slick and very quiet compared to my last bike. If you're considering this bike then go for it I'm more than pleased for the money, there's no downside to it at all.Date published: 2017-11-19
