Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 124 reviewers.Rated 5 out of 5 by MellowJohnny Cult of the Vulcan...Live long and prosper i have owned a Vulcan XC Spec since 09, and have just bought a brand new one today. For the money you just can't beat this bike. I know bike snobs everywhere scoff at Halfords but this bike is technically excellent and has great engineering touches for the price. 21 July 2016Rated 5 out of 5 by Tuzzer Amazing bike I bought this bike today for £279 on sale in halfords and I can honestly say it is the best bargain for a bike. The brakes are top quality and the speed this bike can get up to is amazing. The bike feels solid but lightweight for a mountain bike which really gives it good handling. The staff at halfords were really helpful and would recommend people too shop there for their bikes. Overall and amazing bike and even better for £279 !! 21 July 2016Rated 5 out of 5 by Verified Reviewer Excellent product. Love this bike it been a long time since I been on a bike now can't stop using it, I got it to keep fit good value of money and the brakes are great and with 25 speed going up hill is no problem the bike is light and easy to control, the only problem is the seat a bit uncomfortable but should get use to it,I would recommend this product to anyone. 20 July 2016Rated 5 out of 5 by Verified Reviewer Great Bike Great bike, Good value for money. It's got good fork travel 120mm and lockout forks. The brakes are excellent with the upgraded master cylinders on this model. The tyres that come on the bike are very good for Tarmac and not that 'nobbly' so it's smooth. I'd recommend this bike to anyone that wants to keep under the 400 bracket and the price of this spec of bike would be about 500 in any other shop so be careful what your getting. 09 July 2016Rated 4 out of 5 by Allan71 After 20 years I got back on my bike ! So after too many years I decided to get a bike again and after much thought decided on a mountain bike rather than a hybrid, the Carrera Vengeance as I planned to use it off road rather than on. However, after speaking to Lewis from the Portsmouth branch I changed my mind and upgraded to a Vulcan - mainly due to the hydraulic brakes and lockable front dampers. What a good piece of advice that was ! Having now had the bike for a few weeks and using it on the road and trails around the Lochs of Scotland I can say that it has performed very well for a novice like me anyways. I am sure as my knowledge and ability grows I may well want to upgrade but for now and the next few years this is a solid bike and good performer. Would I buy it again in the same situation - ABSOLUTELY. 23 July 2016Rated 3 out of 5 by Goon3r4l1f3 Good bike but glaring errors! I've been riding the bike daily for 5 weeks now and feel confident enough to give an accurate review. The bike on a whole is very comfortable, very sturdy and easy to ride. It looks nice too and often get comments like "hope you've got got a chain for that thing." I have never had a bike with hydrolic brakes before so I feel I cannot comment on these too well, other than I stop extremely quickly! And the suspension is also very nice. The downsides to the bike are, for some unknown reason, my bike didn't come with a front chain guard which has caused massive annoyance. I don't know if this is a design issue or they couldn't be bothered to put one on when building my bike. This and a dodgy gear system together cause the chain to come off ... ALOT! And I mean 3 times a trip some days and I only cycle 6 miles each way. The gears change cogs whenever they feel like it, and if I change while going uphill, it never goes into the selected one. With a few tweaks this could be a good bike. I hope this review helps :) 21 July 2016Rated 5 out of 5 by Verified Reviewer Vulcan, bike not the plane i was after a decent bike for mainly off road and hadn't been on a bike for about 25 years. great price and lots of extras. easy to get used too and it looks great. seat is a little uncomfortable but that's because i'm not used to biking yet so have a very sore butt. i love this bike and now don't just see it as a bike i see it as a new hobby. 06 June 2016Rated 5 out of 5 by Jbarrett Excellent bike highly recommend Owned this bike for about a month now and it has exceeded my expectations, the brakes are brilliant and the bike is very well ballance and I honestly can't think of any flaws or faults other than the seat being a bit uncomfortable when riding for long per of time 21 July 2016
