VooDoo Bizango 29er Mountain BikeMountain Bike Rider, Hardtail of the year - under £750 "Killer Value with a great ride quality, this bike easily deserves top marks." Rated 10/10!
Halfords acknowledges that Mountain Bike Rider is a Trademark of Time Inc.
A bike that needs no introduction, the VooDoo Bizango 29er Mountain Bike is a trail-destroying beast that has a slew of awards to its name, and it's easy to see why. Bumpy trails are no match for this bike's specs: a 120mm Suntour Raidon air fork soaks up all those bumps like a sponge, and the 20 speed Shimano Deore drivetrain provides an excellent range with smooth changes. The Bizango laughs in the face of mud and obstacles thanks to its large 29" wheels and Maxxis Ardent tyres which provide fantastic traction without slowing you down. If things are getting too hairy, the powerful Shimano hydraulic disc brakes can be relied upon in all weathers, and it's topped off with a finishing kit that provides precise and direct handling. The Bizango is the bike that's always raring to go and sulks when it has to come home.

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 75 reviewers.Rated 5 out of 5 by Richowl Great looks and performance Having reached my 40's I decided that I would take up cycling as a means to keep fit. I purchased a road bike in 2015 which did nothing except temper my enthusiasm. Having moved house I found the transpennine trail and so began months of research for a mountain bike. Based in South Yorkshire I visited the two big chains and a couple of independents and tried all the recognized brands. With a budget of about £600 I wanted to make sure that I could get the best bike for my money. I had no real preference on wheel size just that it had to be hard tail. Having narrowed it down to 3 possibilities I still wasn't sure as all had various pro's and con's. I went to Halfords just to have a look and as soon as I saw the bizango I was impressed with the looks and the spec comparatively was far better. I sat on the bike and there and then I purchased it. The only criticism I have with the bike is that I find the grips uncomfortable and there isn't much space between my knuckles and the brake lever. Other than that the components are great, the shocks are faultless and the bike is so light. I have had the bike around 6 weeks and ride it like I have stolen it. I am 6ft 5inch and at 17stone I have given it a lot to endure and it has not failed me yet. The build quality is fantastic and the confidence that it gives me particularly with the 29" wheels makes me feel like a fearless teenager again. Forget the so called big brands and save yourself months of research and trailing the missus and the kids around endless shops. 07 August 2016Rated 5 out of 5 by Richbiz Full of attitude The new bike looks fantastic and rides even better than it looks. It really wants you to ride it hard and gives you the confidence to do it with the sharp brakes and great front suspension. If you are used to £300-400 bikes and are wondering if it is worth spending the extra to buy this, you will not be disappointed. Love the 29" wheels, they just keep rolling. In all honesty the Halfords set up was a little iffy but a quick Google found a local expert to set it up for £40. Don't be put off, even with spending a few quid on having someone tweak the set up it is still incredible value. With the current 20% off and the 0% finance, you would be mad not to buy one. Good job Halfords. 30 July 2016Rated 5 out of 5 by Argyrios I loved this bike immediately I bought this bike to upgrade my 26er. I had never heard of VOODOO so i looked the reviews. Initially i rejected it and went for a Specialized (which was much more expensive!). I test rided it and the Specialized felt so cheap and pathetic! Then I test rided the Bizango and I knew immediately: this is the bike! The quality gap was enornous!! The Bizango has high quality parts, high spec frame, good geometry, and no need to upgrade any parts. I went to Surrey Hills with this bike twice, Epping Forest once and was great, I cycle on the road and is also fine..! It feels very solid and well built. 06 July 2016Rated 5 out of 5 by Barfly Bizango - recommended buy It's been nearly 6 weeks since I bought the Bizango. I've deliberately left it until now to post this review. Short story - this beauty of a bike is highly recommended at this price-point. I waited about a month before buying mine as a birthday present for myself. I waited for a double discount to come on line - money off the bike and a 2 hour 10% flash sale combined. What a bargain! The set up wasn't right with the forks having far too much air pressure but that got easily sorted. The brakes need attention but that's my fault for getting much off on the disks and pads. Top tip - buy a suspension seat post ASAP. My Suntour NCX has improved this bike over 200%. That combined with new Ergon grips and seat have vastly improved the contact points. Well done Halfords - the frame on this bike is amazing and will stand as much upgrading as you see fit to throw on it. 25 June 2016Rated 5 out of 5 by Osso711 Rock Solid After being left behind by friends on the trails at Cannock Chase, i decided to take the MBR (sub £750) bike reviews on board and invest in a Voodoo Bizango. I am delighted with this bike. Very good forks and tyres plus a quality Shimano chain set. Im faster and more confident on the Dog and Monkey now i have this bike. Only slight niggles are:- Gears need adjustment as i change gear and nothing happens for a second or two on certain gears. I will get this sorted on the 6 week service as the gear wire always need adjustment. Also, i hoped that the brakes and gears position would have been reviewed and adjusted on collection (forks were done) But i did this at home without a problem. Store manager Gerry was very good. All in all, its alot of Mountain Bike for the money and with the additional 20% off, it made it a no-brainer ! 08 August 2016Rated 4 out of 5 by PabloDutch For the money .. excellent!!! Like most, I like to research before buying anything significant. After exhaustive internet trawling for reviews etc. and multiple test rides of other bikes ... the Bizango won-out. It's not perfect: the gears take a while to process the signals from your thumb/s (not quite a slick as my other bike's XT hardware) and the rubbery handlebar grips feel a little 'mushy' but, for the money, this is an excellent bike :-) The frame geometry suits me fine: I'm 6' tall / 32" inside leg so went for the longer reach/taller 20" frame (gives a nice & comfortable tail-down-heads-up riding position) and everything else about the bike is fine. The deciding factor was the recent 20% reduction in price which, coupled with a further 10% British Cycling discount, meant I landed this one for £432!!! The Scott Scale is a more focused/better quality/hardcore bike but, at nearly £1200, is it 3 x better than the Bizango? I don't think so. The 29" wheels are real mile-munchers too. All in all ... very pleased with the Voodoo :-) 04 August 2016Rated 5 out of 5 by LineyTunes Great bike Replaced previous Bizango which was stolen - the 2016 version is even nic than last year's, which cheered me up somewhat. And a kilo lighter. Loads of fun. 02 August 2016Rated 4 out of 5 by scott22 solid build Being 22+ stone any build issue are likely to become evident after a very short time. I have now done approximately 60+ miles, though not many I have reached the following opinion. The gear ratios make it easier to haul my mass up most inclines I would have previously got off and walked up. I can change down gears going up hills where other bikes have clunked to a halt. Even with my natural padding, WHY? seats not built for a little more comfort!! 30 July 2016
