Mountain Bike Rider, Hardtail of the year - under £750 "Killer Value with a great ride quality, this bike easily deserves top marks." Rated 10/10!
Halfords acknowledges that Mountain Bike Rider is a Trademark of Time Inc.

A bike that needs no introduction, the VooDoo Bizango 29er Mountain Bike is a trail-destroying beast that has a slew of awards to its name, and it's easy to see why. Bumpy trails are no match for this bike's specs: a 120mm Suntour Raidon air fork soaks up all those bumps like a sponge, and the 20 speed Shimano Deore drivetrain provides an excellent range with smooth changes. The Bizango laughs in the face of mud and obstacles thanks to its large 29" wheels and Maxxis Ardent tyres which provide fantastic traction without slowing you down. If things are getting too hairy, the powerful Shimano hydraulic disc brakes can be relied upon in all weathers, and it's topped off with a finishing kit that provides precise and direct handling. The Bizango is the bike that's always raring to go and sulks when it has to come home.

    • Frame: Lightweight double butted aluminium
    • Forks: Suntour Raidon 120mm fork with lockout for excellent trail performance
    • Gears: Shimano Deore 20 speed gearing for ultra precise and fast shifting
    • Brakes: Shimano hydraulic brakes for fast and efficient stopping
    • Wheels: 29" Alloy double wall VooDoo wheels and Maxxis tyres for excellent grip

Rated 3 out of 5 by Bizango Having placed my order and opted for the Halfords we build I was rung and my bike was ready, waiting in store whilst young lad put my bars right way round paid then left with my first new bike for many year a nice five mile home, went to my bike they next day pre ride check head set loose, not just a bit alot so a check of bike carried out various bolts loose, noticed on ride home chain rubs on front derailleur most of time, I can see why they get bad press employ lads that can set the bikes up not just guess,, best thing is buy the bike and set it up yourself you can't do any worse,, bikes great just needs time setting it up properly 30 December 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good bike not so good service I bought this bike from Halfords bury st Edmunds and within 5 mins of riding the chain had slipped in between the spokes and rear sprockets so I have to take it back to get them adjusted overall nice bike tho 30 December 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Quality bike My 14 year old son is very tall he wanted a new bike he has only had it for a couple of days and hes already loves it i think it is a quality bike for its preformance and price 20 December 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by New bike My 7 year old boardman was stolen so I got a new bike through my insurance. Right from the start I wanted a bizango to replace it even tho it was £300 cheaper than I paid for my first bike. I was so excited when I found out I get it and what made it even more awesome was it was reduced by a further £120.... ikr! But, that's where the romance ended. The chain started to come off while changing gear and getting really jamme. Then 5 days after picking the bike up the gears packed in. Let's be clear here, I am in no way hard on my bikes, I use it every day to take my husky for runs through the woods every day on low rated trails, couple speed runs and a couple decent hills. Don't get me wrong, I'm not throwing it under the bus just yet, will wait and see how it performs after it's fixed but I would still recommend it as this seems to be a very rare problem 12 December 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by 22in version now available I have a Boardman hybrid which is great for tarmac and light trails but not that good for the wintery, muddy trails. I found the Boardman mtb's a bit on the small size and then the helpful staff at Kilner Way, Sheffield suggested I try the new 22in version of the Bizango. I am 6ft 3in and 120kg and the bike felt perfect so I bought it immediately, especially at the reduced price of £500 plus the additional 10% British Cycling discount. The bike is much better on the muddy trails than the hybrid but obviously not as good on the tarmac. I am still experimenting with the tyre pressures and am sure I will find a suitable compromise. Road bike tyre pressures are often 100+ psi, hybrids 60/70 psi and mtb's 30/40psi. This is obviously due to the tyre width. I like the 2x gears on the Bizango and the clutch on the rear derailleur is a great idea but think the clutch may be slowing down the gear change a fraction. I feel very comfortable with the steering and am sure the axle helps in this regard. The gearing is great for climbing but a slightly higher top gear would be useful for downhill stretches. The hydraulic brakes work well and the suspension was set correctly for my weight. I have already noticed a couple of chips in the paintwork due to the debris on the trails after the recent gales, also the wide tyres throw up quite a lot of spray in wet conditions. It is easy to see why the Bizango has won numerous awards in recent years and I very pleased that I have purchased this product. 15 January 2017
Rated 5 out of 5 by Award winning bike! I bought this bike on the strength of several MTB mag revues on YouTube. All of which consistently rate the Bizango as the best hardtail under £750. The fact it is only £600 is a bonus then I got it in the sale for £500. The bike did not disappoint on the trail either, fantastic responsive geometry and forks work a treat. Would have happily paid £750 for it having ridden it hard! The guys in the Swindon Halfords were also great too. Thanks very much, this made my Christmas! 13 January 2017
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fantastic hard tail Really good quality bike. Hard as nails but very light. Well worth the money. Much better than most bikes upto £1200 I tried. Can't believe this quality at that price. 11 January 2017
Rated 4 out of 5 by Almost perfect! The geometry of the Bizango is spot on and offers a very comfortable ride. For the cost, the components are excellent. There is just one problem and that is the gears. The Shimano 618 front derailleur doesn't seem wide enough to cope with the 2x10 chainset and 10 speed cassette at the back. There is chain rub when the chain is on the larger ring on the chainset and the smaller rings at the back. Halfords Glossop have had my bike back to sort this out and have done a good job in improving it but social media suggests that this problem began when the 616 derailleur was replaced with he 618 which is slightly narrower. Anyway, other than this, the bike is great!! 11 November 2016
