Rated 3 out of 5 by Coyote Pleased with the bike but not getting the miles some say they get. It doesnt take hills very well and have to push on the steeper ones which sort of defeats the object a little. The battery costs worry me and after a year mine is already losing power. I paid for stuff to be put into the tyres but when i had a puncture i could find no evidence af it. Too late now of course but its not something you will find out till its too late. I would suggest you watch it being put in. Maybe 24v is not enough for hills but i was assured it was when i bought it. The bike is heavy to handle without the power on but generally its been helpful. 13 January 2017

Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent value electric bike We bought this folding electric bike for my wife, who was refusing to come out for bike rides with me. Sheffield is just too hilly for non-enthusiastic cyclists. We cannot go even 10 metres from home without facing hills. A bike shop we visited offered electric bikes at £2000 - £3000! Then we saw this bike for £500, read the reviews, and bought it. The only downside is that she has to wait of me at the top of every hill. There is now no hill which now daunts her. Off course you have to pedal and use the excellent gears - the motor alone is not enough, but the extra push up hills is incredible, and makes all the difference. On the flat, the bike is fine without any assistance, and even slight inclines are OK. Since it is a folding bike, we can take it in the car. The only problem is that like most electric bikes, it is heavy, so awkward to lift into the car. The power and battery life is less than on more expensive bikes, but fine for rides of 20 miles or so in very hilly areas. The twist grip gear change works well, and the gearing is fine for a bike of this size. The 3 "power" levels don't give you more power, but just determine the speed at which the motor cuts out (about 9, 12, 15 mph). We don't use level 2 and 3 much, since we are going slowly up hills, or freewheeling fast down without any need for the motor. In summary, we are delighted with the bike, and I often use it for trips to the city centre instead of the bus, enjoying the long climb back home. 01 November 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Superb Bike I decided to commute to work rather than drive for many reasons . So cycling and taking the train it was to be. However the thought of battling the New Forest hills in the dark in mid winter with a strong head wind at 6 in the morning didn't appeal.so I opted to go electric to ease the pain ( I'm in my 50's now). In the last two weeks of my commute I have covered 112 miles and I can honestly say it has been an absolute pleasure to ride. It is responsive and the dreaded hills disappear. The purist cyclist that I work with do rib me about it being electric etc , but at the end of the day it is, for me , a commuter bike. And it does the job very well. I easily cover the 14 miles a day I do, initially I had battery anxiety as the red dots on the power indicator is reduced to one by the time I arrived home. Others have mentioned that the gearing is too low, and I wouldn't disagree with that , however that shouldn't put you off. It is a gem of a machine.....and my teenage daughter loves it , so it must be cool too...... 16 October 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by well made, neat little bike Purchased a couple of these for the motorhome, to give us more flexibility when out and about. Had a little trouble ordering as the new model was just out - but Matt and the crew at the Marsh Mills store sorted it, and gave us some freebies for our trouble. So I thought I'd wait until I tried them properly before writing a review - well month in France later I can say they're great bikes for the money and perform well (not sure you'll get the sort of mileage quoted though) Perhaps another gear or two would be useful, but then you would easily exceed the motor limit, and defeat the object! Plus you have to remember this is a folding bike with 20" wheels, so 15mph is probably a safe maximum speed. Makes riding a pleasure and we only use the low setting unless it's hilly, they really are the best thing we've bought in a long time. Not perfect, but excellent value for money and good service so far from Halfords. 03 October 2016
Rated 2 out of 5 by Disappointed Gear ratio too low and requires alot of pedaling. Noisy motor on front wheel. Does not stay together when folded. 05 November 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Replacement Biike My 1st review (Gearing far too low) was for that bike. After 3 weeks I now have a 'brand' new bike. Whilst I still think the gearing is too low, the serious issue was it started to continually cut out every few hundred yards(battery?). Halfords happily replaced it with a brand new bike. I'm now pretty sure the last bike was itself a 'return' or possibly shop soiled! I watched this one come out of the box and was astounded by all the goodies that came out which I didn't have before, bell, reflectors, toolkit, handbook, velcro strap. And this one has an indicator on the charger to show when it's charged (not on the last bike). No problems so far with cutting out! Halfords customer service was brilliant. TIP: make sure you are getting a new one out of the box. 16 September 2016
