Vibe Black Air 6" Component Car Speakers is rated out of 5 by 15.Rated 5 out of 5 by RoadRunnner from Great Speakers as long as you power them with a good amp Having read through the reviews it became clear that the people that " Rubbish " these speakers have little understanding of how car audio works. These are not designed to be a direct replacement for standard speakers and will not work well if just powered by a standard head unit. These have a minimum power rating of 60w RMS most standard head units cannot get anywhere near that kind of power output so as standard replacements they are no good. However if you are building a decent car audio system with some " Proper " Amps then hitting 60w RMS should be easy to do max RMS is 120w so choose your amp and power balance your system accordingly. When Installing use the proper gaskets and fix down securly to a solid surface , Not just screwed to the plastic door trim ( it will not work and sound pants ) if you follow thede rules then these speakers perform great, and halfords current price of £79.99 is a real steal , cheapest anywhere. , So dont listen to the haters as they have little knowledge and expect the product to overcome their ignorance and incompetence. I have these in my own vehicle now and can confirm they are excellent, I have them connected through a high pass filter so they deliver mids and highs , the bass is handled by the other speakers in the install.Date published: 2017-09-11Rated 5 out of 5 by Gibbo24 from Only buy if your running an amp to power them Ok where do I start, well I run a big bass build in my car, and to no end have I been popping speakers for fun not down to my own doing but product fault more than anything as ive been a professional installer for about 5 years so I know my way around a system, the reason most good speakers get poor reviews is because people think they are a direct replacement and can run them from a standard or even aftermarket headunit in short you can't you will starve them of power and put excess strain on them causing poor quality and a poor life expectancy, its a common misconception mainly due to products advertising their peak power (the max it can take for like a minute before it implodes) against its rms power (the actual amount the speaker can run comfortably) they have a min input on the rms which with these is 55w rms per speaker meaning you WILL need atleast a 210w amp to run them or they wont work correctly, I can assure you if you amp these speakers correctly you will not be disappointed, also before people say why choose vibe and not focal, hertz, jlaudio, mtx etc? Because why spend excess on a set of speakers that bare in mind will also need amplifying when these do a smashing job for half the price, vibe audio are really quite a great product at a budget price and they produce direct competitors to most big audio companies, Google vibe cven or black death etc, beleive me when i say my car is loud at full volume it peaks around 108 decibels which is almost as loud as a Metallica concert guys will spend thousands on massive builds to get above 130 decibels and ive done it on a budget all in all a great product when used correctly, anyway i hope this review helpsDate published: 2017-08-31Rated 5 out of 5 by audioslave from Quality Audio Very impressed with these speakers. Clear instructions, easy to fit, look great and out perform my previous so called high end system. Good base and treble response.Date published: 2017-06-05Rated 1 out of 5 by Evoman05 from Far better for money So these are the best in the halfords range but rubbish, I blew a woofer at the exact rated rms (not even peak) the tweeters are very harsh and the crossovers simply cheap and nasty. Vibe have tried to copy the focal k2. I bought the k2 in the end and there is no comparison. Yes they cost a lot more but in my opinion, you will have a far far superior sound by buying an entry range from a superior manufacturer. E.g. Focal access are the same sort of price and will blow these away! I borrowed some focal polyglass from a friend for testing and again, difference is night and day. If this is your budget, read no further, just go to a proper car audio place and buy focal access. If they don't sell focal, jl audio or hertz, turn around and walk outDate published: 2017-04-20Rated 1 out of 5 by James00 from They look nice but that's it Got these on line as they don't stock them in store. Picked them up in store took them home. I opened the box an they are nice looking speakers. Fitted them to my car in place of the factory speakers ( behind the door panels. Connected them up ant tried them out. They just sound cheap no depth to the bass and the treble just sounds unbalanced. The standard speakers sounded better. If you want speakers to look at buy these if you want to listen to them don't bother. In my opinion these should be priced around £35. I took them back and got a refund.Date published: 2016-09-22Rated 1 out of 5 by Matty2323 from Shouldof bought a pair of headphones Fitted to my golf mk4 with pioneer double din head unit. Read the instructions, fitted them properly, soldered them in for a good connection, left the volume low to wear them in for a few days. Turning it up to about 1/3 of the volume... Sound quality is terrible, two of the tweeters have blown and the woofers are just humming as if the volume is right up yet it was still quite. Would never buy againDate published: 2016-05-16Rated 2 out of 5 by George2015 from Waste of money Not the best sound quality and one of the speakers blew within two daysDate published: 2015-11-01Rated 5 out of 5 by Jezz105 from Excellent Quality and soumd I have these connected to my Vibe Black Air 4Ch Amp and they sound superb. As the minimum input wattage for these speakers is 55 watt RMS you need to run them from an amplifier as any head unit is not powerful enough to run them properly. Even though a head unit says 4x50 watt that is not RMS power and only equates to 4x12.5 watt RMS. These are the best component speakers for the money, well worth q buy. Hope this helps youDate published: 2015-10-30
