The Halfords Advanced Mesh Headrest Dog Guard has a unique design which mounts rigidly onto your cars headrests. It can be fitted to either the front or rear seats and allows your dog to be transported safely in the car. The secure fitting and wire mesh ensure that maximum safety for your pet is provided.

Additional Information

The Highway Code rule 57 requires that when travelling in a vehicle dogs or other animals are suitably restrained so they cannot distract you or cause injury to you, or themselves, in the event that you have to stop quickly. You can ensure that you are transporting your pet safely by using a seat belt harness, pet carrier, dog crate or dog guard.

it does what it says i read the reviews on this before i bought and also took advice from staff in store at Sealand road, Chester. ... very helpful, fitted it for me. its looks good and i can use the boot pull out curtain as it fitted back into its hold. thanks for reviews and staff at Chester, every time i go there they are great. 26 August 2012
Great product Got this today i have a zafira 07plate,which this fits well with extension sides,the assistant at northwich fitted it in miniutes and because it has no supports i was able to still use my pull out boot cover and it fits to headrest supports so seats can still be moved forward.tried it out with my two pups a lively 10mth patter/jack and a 5mth staffordshire bull terrier,and after my patter/jack tried to jump seats an realized she couldnt she settled down and was a lot calmer in the car.would recommend this product 24 June 2012
Dog Guard After reading the reviews I made my mind up to buy the guard. It was easy to fit to a Nissan Qashqui, there was a spare set of longer hooks in the box which came in very handy. Overall very pleased. 21 June 2012

Brilliant dog guard! This was relatively easy to put up in my estate car. It is really sturdy and secure-ie it does not rattle when driving along. I have used more expensive dog guards over the years, but they have not been as good as this one. Highly recommended! 26 May 2012
Adequate if slightly overpriced Generally an ok purchase, does the job as required, as in it does stop the dog getting out of the boot, but the fixings could be refined to allow quicker and easier removal, as to put the seats down will require the 10 minute removal, and 30 minute refitting, and not losing the 2 part fixings. However , the product is robustly made, and stands up to abuse from lairy dogs well. Overall, if it was refined to make the fixings better, and easier to remove quickly, would be great, but currently there are a few refinements needed. 18 May 2012
Best dog guard I've used I've used a variety of dog guards Iover the years but this is the best. Very easy to assemble. Materials are high quality and strong. Overall I would recommend to anyone. Only downside I've found are the hooks used to attach the headrest are only plastic and one did break. However, halfords were happy to replace the part and there are spares in the box. 13 May 2012
Brilliant product We have two Springer Spaniels who are very lively in the back of the car, this keeps them where we want them and safely. This was on offer when we got it so we got one for both cars........excellent value for the money 12 May 2012

For if your dog is travelling in the boot, there is the Halfords Tubular Dog Guard 816389 which is easily mounted between the roof and the floor behind the rear seats or the Halfords Advanced Mesh Headrest Dog Guard 821074 has a unique design which mounts rigidly to headrests. Alternatively if your dog is travelling in the rear of the car, the Halfords Front Seat Dog Guard 816801 helps to prevent your dog accessing the front of your car. All of the above are universal and suitable for most vehicles.

I am looking for a dog guard that can be installed and left in the car at the same time as the parcel shelf. So when I want to take the dog in the car I can just remove the parcel shelf and not have to re-fit the dog guard.

The Halfords Advanced Mesh Headrest Dog Guard may fit with a parcel shelf, but it depends on the vehicle and the positioning of the fixing clamps. If the headrests are up, and therefore the clamps sit higher in the vehicle, then the shelf MAY fit. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee this. The Halfords Advanced Mesh Headrest Dog Guard should fit your Skoda Roomster. It's a universal dog guard so should fit most vehicles as long as they have rear headrest posts to which the guard clamps on to.
