Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 9 reviewers.Rated 5 out of 5 by IanOnABike Does just what you want Read number of reviews on this and a number suggest its hard to use. Now having got one myself I don't understand the difficulty some people have had. I find the gauge easy to use on both valve types and at best you lose 1-2psi taking the valve off. I find the best way to use it is over inflate more with your pump and then use the bleed function on this to take you just above where you want to be. If you have a track pump with its own gauge you soon know how accurate it is and where to pump up to. If you need it to then be very accurate just use this gauge to bleed off the right amount of air to get you there. Also useful on the car, although there are certainly as accurate car gauges you can buy cheaper, they don't sadly do presta valves. 13 September 2016Rated 2 out of 5 by Verified Reviewer Fiddly to use When it works this is great, but it is fiddly and more often than not a lot of air escapes from the tyre before you can get an accurate reading, at least with a Presta valve, so you end up having to repeat the pump-up-tyre/take-reading procedure - sometimes more than once. A better idea, I now realise, is to have a pump with an accurate pressure gauge built in. It also takes up a lot of space in your saddlebag if you take it out on the road with you. 05 May 2016Rated 5 out of 5 by GeordieCyclist Alround Digital Tyre Gauge This gauge is a dual, smart head gauge in the sense that it can fit to both shrader and presta valves, easily changing between the two with a simple slide switch. It has a clear, easily readable display which shows current pressure, but can be also used as a guide to reducing excess pressure in your tyres, letting out an audible alarm when the correct pressure is reached. This function I find extremely useful as I use Co2 cartridges to inflate my tubeless tyres on my MTB and also road bikes. The auto off function ensures that the battery life is not reduced and the whole package fits either into a cycle jersey or a pocket on a rucksak. Included in the package are the batteries which makes this a winner. The whole head also rotates to give you a better view of the display making it a truely universal tool. Quality you would expect from Topeak items. If you are looking for a good quality gauge at a fraction of the price, you should definately consider this gauge. 23 January 2016Rated 4 out of 5 by GlynY Useful bike tyre gauge - eventually! The Topeak digital gauge feels well-made and is predictably more expensive than analogue ones and so offers peace of mind for riders who need to check their tyres and also want to adjust their tyre pressure for different terrains. The main challenge is getting it to work, as it can 'leak' 10 psi just while putting it onto the valve! This was true for every time I used it on a Presta tyre - Schrader became more intuitive after a few practice attempts. In the end, I opted for using a screw-on Schrader-to-Presta converter (under £2), which makes a solid connection between the gauge and Schrader tyre - problem solved! 13 December 2015Rated 5 out of 5 by davebo777 Accurate and easy to use I was very cautious about trusting this as other things I had tried did not give reliable results but this is a great gauge. Compact if you need to carry it about but robust and looks like it will last. I tried it against a Schraeder gauge that I trust and the results were identical. So when I tried it on my Presta valves I was shocked at how low the readings were. As long as you use it as described in the instructions then the readings are accurate and there is little to no loss of pressure. (~1psi on a 100 psi tyre). I would advise a 'positive but careful' approach. If you go at it half baked there could be issues. Also, make sure you have a firm grip on the (grey) head or the body can swivel and you won't get a positive connection. I haven't used the continuous reading for adjusting the pressure yet but it sounds like a useful feature. It is good value - not cheap - but it gives reliable results. 02 September 2015Rated 1 out of 5 by Fred29 Extremely inaccurate A real 32 psi reads as 26 psi with this gauge. Don't buy this - you could guess the pressure more accurately. 07 February 2015Rated 4 out of 5 by Turbonator Better than the last one Had no problems with this and have used it to take pressures from bicycle, car and motorcycle tyres. A tiny bit of air is expelled initially when pushing it onto Presta valves valves but Schraeder valves are a cinch. Best thing is it gives a reading quickly and every time. Originally I bought a different digital gauge from another (German) manufacturer- it was hit and miss whether it worked or not on some valves and on others the numbers would climb for about 20 seconds until it reached its true reading-no good at all. Only grumble about this one is it's slightly more bulky, but it is reliable and works a treat so willing to accept this slight negative. 08 September 2014Rated 3 out of 5 by Verified Reviewer Great features Great features but I found that it lost two much air when using on a presta bike valve & hence was counter productive, so took it back. It was accurate though & as it could be used to check car tyres, I nearly kept it except I still had an older pressure gauge with hose, which still worked. 01 September 2014
