Universal Multigrip Snow Socks Large is rated out of 5 by 55.Rated 4 out of 5 by TVWG from Universal Multigrip Snow Socks I bought this item about 4 weeks ago during bad snow. I have tried them and they were amazing, I could drive in icy little side roads without any issues. I wish I bought this item ages ago. Very good I recommend it.Date published: 2018-04-07Rated 4 out of 5 by Richsb from Ideal for emergencies I bought these as the Michelin Easy Grip Kevlar chains aren't made for my new car wheel size. Easy-ish to fit in under 10 minutes with my fingers dropping off because of the cold. (Wear gloves and cover arms) Probably harder on my Focus as it is lowered as standard so the more wheelarch clearance you have, the better. When we had the bad spell of snow in March they got me back from work (14 miles) which involves steep hills etc. Unlike my old Michelin ones these seem to collect snow between the tyre and the sock causing it to bulge out and I’ve noticed some of the stitching has come away on the inside of the sock decreasing it’s elasticity. I’d recommend these for an emergency, or if you’re expecting a shed load of snow where the roads will be completely covered as I believe that driving through just slush may of damaged them. All in all, not a bad product.Date published: 2018-03-22Rated 5 out of 5 by Alan4363 from cracking snow socks Bought these during the recent spell of bad weather and snow. Not used them in anger yet but I did test them in the snow i.e. putting them on and off in snow and drove around my estate roads. Took about 5 minutes to put them both on and about the same to get them off. I feel really confident that if I ever get conditions which prevent me from getting home etc that these snow sock would do the trick. The grip seemed superb during my short drive and I now know that I will always be able to get to a main road.Date published: 2018-03-15Rated 4 out of 5 by Rob3404 from Stuck without them I wanted to buy some chains but was told by Halfords online chat that they did not do them for a 17 plate Golf!!!! Bought these as I was swapping a 4x4 for a Golf the day the snow came and boy did it come. The socks are easy to put on but you will want gloves and your sleeves covered. They work well but you will still slip at speed they are for traction. I drove through deep snow but don’t use them when there is just slush as they will shred because they are like a plastic fabricDate published: 2018-03-14Rated 5 out of 5 by Bob4444 from Easy to fit and work well Bought these prior to a trip to the highlands when the Beast from the East was approaching. Found them really easy to fit and remove, coped well with fairly deep snow even on a steepish incline.Date published: 2018-03-12Rated 2 out of 5 by GWqwerty from Use once and throw away emergency use only Easy to put on. Grip seems to improve after the first 100 yards.Certainly got me up 4-5 big Mendip hills, and would have been stranded and walking without, so thanks good emergency product, and easily stored. However 10 miles of deep snow and 2 miles of slush and no bare tarmac damaged stitching on drivers side, so perhaps would do the same distance again, and passengers side wall damaged so no longer stable on the tyre. Potholes I am guessing, but if you know a road without them let me knowDate published: 2018-03-02Rated 5 out of 5 by Ant1c70 from Impressed :-) I was a bit hesitant at first and I thought that I may have just wasted my money, I bought them a couple of days ago for my volvo c70 (convertible with low profile tryres) not ideal for snow! In live in Derbyshire along a very exposed piece of road that is not maintained /gritted etc , after fitting them which took me around 15minutes e)I set off down a snow covered track where only the bravest of 4 x4 drivers would venture, I was immediately impressed by how well they helped my car stay on the road and not down the side of a bank on both sides of the road! Coming back up was just as easy as well, my partner also lives on a ridiculously steep hill and without these fitted to my car there is no way that I would have made it, I've even found myself driving on the back roads to get everywhere at the minute just so that I can drive in the snow :-) the pros to them are, they will get you out of the .. , cons, you'll be able to drive to work :-( , they are a bit expensive and also fiddly to put on, great piece of kit if you don't mind driving under 25mphis, which to be fair In the snow that we've just had I don't mind at all :-)Date published: 2018-03-02Rated 5 out of 5 by Doug65 from Great product. Easy to fit in less than 5 minutes. Drove up hill along driveway and onto village C roads with ease, roads that were previously impassable. I was so impressed with the performance of the socks that I kept to the uncleared back roads to thoroughly test them. I recommend keeping a set in the car every winter.Date published: 2018-03-01
