Mountain Bike Rider, Hardtail of the year - under £750 "Killer Value with a great ride quality, this bike easily deserves top marks." Rated 10/10!
Halfords acknowledges that Mountain Bike Rider is a Trademark of Time Inc.

A bike that needs no introduction, the VooDoo Bizango 29er Mountain Bike is a trail-destroying beast that has a slew of awards to its name, and it's easy to see why. Bumpy trails are no match for this bike's specs: a 120mm Suntour Raidon air fork soaks up all those bumps like a sponge, and the 20 speed Shimano Deore drivetrain provides an excellent range with smooth changes. The Bizango laughs in the face of mud and obstacles thanks to its large 29" wheels and Maxxis Ardent tyres which provide fantastic traction without slowing you down. If things are getting too hairy, the powerful Shimano hydraulic disc brakes can be relied upon in all weathers, and it's topped off with a finishing kit that provides precise and direct handling. The Bizango is the bike that's always raring to go and sulks when it has to come home.

    • Frame: Lightweight double butted aluminium
    • Forks: Suntour Raidon 120mm fork with lockout for excellent trail performance
    • Gears: Shimano Deore 20 speed gearing for ultra precise and fast shifting
    • Brakes: Shimano hydraulic brakes for fast and efficient stopping
    • Wheels: 29" Alloy double wall VooDoo wheels and Maxxis tyres for excellent grip

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brilliant service I ordered my bike while on holiday abroad. I also wanted it built and needed it ready on the one and only day I had free before my return to work. They built and it was ready on that day.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 1500 offroad km review 16 months, 1500km ridden trail/enduro. Excellent bike for the price. Frequent servicing of wheel bearings, headset, and fork lowers are required if you ride in wet conditions, however this is easily done at home. Easily upgradeable. Geometry is really good, provides lots of fun, can handle the rough stuff, looks great. Suggest: upgrade gear cables to shimano, replace cable clips with zip ties, apply frame and fork protection for cable rub, learn to do your own extensive maintenance (especially forks).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Value Had a Boardman for many years and ride mainly Sat/Sun mornings on my local trails, averaging about 10 miles each day. Spent a lot of time looking at all the reviews on bikes up to £750. each time coming back to the Bizango. Spec is outstanding when looking at a lot of more expensive bikes. when i saw it on offer for £500 i had to have it. Fantastic ride quality the big wheels roll over most obstacles well and remove a lot of shocks from bumpy tracks. it takes a little more effort to get the wheels turning but when rolling they carry speed well. gears are great, shifting easily with a good range. Shimano brakes are very good. "Air suspension on a £500 bike" Wow. Not really into writing reviews but i am enjoying this bike so much i thought i had too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent bike for the price Was looking for a decent hardtail and for the spec you get The price was unbeatable first time I've tried a 29er And very impressed the geometry is spot on for me I'm 6ft 2 went for the 20 inch. It handles well off road and takes most things in its stride climbs well too an air fork is a bonus too with lockout. Shimano brakes are excellent And the front wheel has a bolt through axle with quick release The only thing I've changed so far are the grips and pedals But these are a personal choice I bought this to use off road Only and so far it hasn't dissapointed

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb value for money Decided to get back into mountain biking after 3 years out and read most reviews of bikes in the £500-£750 category. The Bizango came out on top in most areas and having had it for about a month now I have to agree. I absolutely love the 29er wheels, they will literally float over any obstacle. My cousin who had a £2k Trek has 'big wheel envy' as a result of doing some trails with me! The gears are good although some adjustment is needed which is due to the set up in Halfords. I was initially a little concerned about the relatively small range of 20 gears but having conquered a long steep uphill yesterday these fears are long gone. The frame is excellent and offers a comfortable riding position. Forks are superb with lock out on top of the fork for riding on road. The tyres are huge and offer superb grip. My one gripe with the bike is the positioning of the cables to the back of the bike. On each ride so far I have clipped my knee on the bracket securing the cable on the left. I cannot understand why these were not fixed to the bottom of the tube rather than the side or better again concealed in the tube. Despite this love the bike and would recommend to anyone looking at bikes up to twice it's price. Unbelievable value at £500.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not what I was hoping for. Read the reviews and on paper it looked fantastic. In truth not so. Build was done by my local bike shop so that was fine. However on only the second ride and with very little pressure the chain snapped. Now this is not good in my eyes. Will hope it proves to be better next time.
