Rated 2.7 out of 5 by 7 reviewers.Rated 1 out of 5 by burhos Laser Ball joint separator did not manage to open to 50mm without removing some of the back lower jaw! Then finally tried it the screw de threaded most disappointing! 10 December 2015Rated 5 out of 5 by Keyl200 Very handy tool! Used these to replace the entire steering on a 4x4. Altogether I had to seperate 6 ball joints, and this tool did the job no problem. Seems well made, so should last quite a while. Overall very happy with it, and would def recommend! 17 August 2015Rated 1 out of 5 by DaithiSlam Useless Tool - poorly constructed Extremely poorly made tool. The length of the arm that is supposed to push down on the ball joint pin is far too short to make decent contact with the pin (even with a nut left on the pin). Conversely, the arm that the screw makes contact with is too long, meaning the jaws don't open wide enough to fit easily over the pin. Lastly, the centre pivot is far too loose allowing too much twisting motion that the screw doesn't hit squarely down on the arm. Pretty much only useful as a paper weight. 15 July 2015Rated 1 out of 5 by BrianB72 A one use tool that could barely do half the job I brought this as I was working on my vehicle and didn't like the idea of using a big lump hammer and splitter close to the brake discs. This managed to remove one of the tie rod ends eventually but when I tried to use it for a second tie rod end the tool began to fall apart! The nut will not stay on the scissor part of the splitter and the lower "prongs" have started to bend! Leaving me with a stuck tie rod end! 27 January 2015Rated 5 out of 5 by Nimmo Does what it's meant to do This separator did what it was meant to do, which is all you can ask. Can't fault it. 24 February 2013Rated 3 out of 5 by Martin86 Okay Value for Money Product as described. It can damage the rubber around ball joint. 17 December 2012Rated 3 out of 5 by Willem82 not great I've used this ball joint separator to split 6 joints on a 1994 mx5 and the last two were extremely troublesome. The tool seems to have bent out of shape under the pressures required to separate the first four joints! Also screw has dug a path for itself in the metal to basically slip off the upper arm, probably.due to the amount of play in the separator.hinge. The screw is also not very long, in addition to having bent out of shape a little I now have to wedge an extra lump of steel (i used an old spanner handle) between the upper arm and the ball joint bolt to get the leverage required. So, all in all, I'm not very impressed with this tool, but there are. few alternatives out there. 24 November 20121-7 of 7
