Carrera Intercity Folding Bike - Red is rated out of 5 by 12.Rated 4 out of 5 by Roblog87 from Overall a brilliant bike for the price Having owned this bike for a few weeks now I'm really pleased with my purchase. There were a few niggles to iron out, like figuring out the best setup to enable quick folding/unfolding. It's really quick to fold and unfold. I have the bars always facing down so that takes one step out of the folding process. Simply drop the seat, drop the bars and fold. The catch to keep the bike together is very firm and it's not particularly easy to open up without giving one side a bit of a kicking (that's my method anyway), I'm hoping this may loosen up after more use. Unfolding is super quick, quicker than brompton's that I see getting off the train. It's obviously a bit bigger than the more expensive folds but it's not been a problem for me so far. I've managed to get it on plenty of pretty busy commuter trains (from waterloo). The paint has come away a little bit where parts come in contact with each other during folding etc but I'm not that concerned by that. I've thought about removing the rack over the rear wheel but I actually find it the best and most balanced place to pick the bike up from when folded. I'm finding it's not going in to all of the gears very well, so I'm having to use only a certain few. I've found gear 5 best for flats, good balance between not working too hard and speed.Date published: 2017-12-07Rated 5 out of 5 by AlJS from Fun to use After researching what's available this seemed the best folding bike for me. I checked it in the shop and it sold itself to me. When I picked up my bike, having ordered it online for Click and Collect, it was ready to go. I rode it home from the store, a slightly hilly four miles. After minor adjustments to the saddle position, and handlebar height the fit is perfect (I'm 5'11" or 1.80m). This is a bike that is fun to ride, very responsive, well balanced and surprisingly light for a folding bike. Folding and unfolding are both quick and easy to do. A key plus feature is the range of eight gears, meaning that negotiating hills doesn't present a problem, and riding at a decent pace on the flat and descending is a doddle. If you want to go for a longer ride you can add a standard bottle cage as there are threaded positions on the frame. I'm enjoying my new bike.Date published: 2017-02-26Rated 3 out of 5 by philla from Easy to ride but paint easly damaged The bike is easy to ride. However its a fiddle to fold as the handle bars don't clear the locking pin easily. Un folding is very easy. The paint is also very soft and scratches very very easilyDate published: 2016-05-09Rated 5 out of 5 by lares from Exceeds expectations I've had this bike for just over a year now and it's performed brilliantly. Easy to fold and to assemble, it's solidly built and is fast on roads and paths.Date published: 2016-03-31Rated 4 out of 5 by ray3012 from A smart looking folder I hadn't ridden a bike for over 50 years, so didn't want to spend a fortune on something that might finish up on an auction site if I couldn't get on with it. So far so good, I haven't fallen off yet and I am getting more confident. I bought a folder so I could easily store it in my caravan when I go away, it's ideal for that. As folders go it's very stylish, and the finish is very good for the price.Date published: 2016-03-21Rated 4 out of 5 by Dickie16 from Love the folding but... ... not the small wheels. This is my first foldable bike, bought because I was sick of my bike being stolen from my shed. I only actually use the folding element for storage at home - it's quick (1 to 2 mins max) and simple. It's not especially light but it is compact and easily fits in the car boot too. The downside is the small wheels - you are going to put a lot of effort in to attain a decent speed. That's the big drawback. When I come to replacing this, I'll definitely go for a larger wheeled foldable.Date published: 2016-03-01Rated 4 out of 5 by Biaginski from Carrera Intercity folding bike Great little bike to take on the train or put in the boot (or keep in a flat etc). Like the way it clips together so you can wheel in along with the handle bars. Comes with bell, and mud guards. At this price I would have expected front and rear lights. That's my only criticism. Other than that I would thoroughly recommend this unisex bike.Date published: 2016-02-08Rated 5 out of 5 by Eddoart from Lightweight and easy to erect. My first folding bike and very pleased with it, light and easy to fold.. A good buy.Date published: 2016-02-03
