Rated 3.8 out of 5 by 106 reviewers.Rated 3 out of 5 by Scaredbiker67 Gearing All Wrong For the price the bike is good value for money but I would urge potential buyers to take a look at the width of the tyres before buying. I bought one online for my short commute to the station and was very surprised to find that the tyres were so thin and don't provide much contact with the road. I also have a problem with the gearing as I can not see me ever using the smallest two cogs on the front. When on the biggest one I also soon run out of gears and it is nowhere near as fast as my previous cheap bike as a result. Overall I wish that I had looked at it in a shop before buying. 26 October 2016Rated 4 out of 5 by skrivener I like it It is a fairly cheaply constructed bike, so pick it up at a quite time & allow the time to make the most of Halford's mechanic on picking it up (& on 6 weeks service). Mine had 5 of the 18 gears rubbing the derailer cogs & both tyres needed spoke adjustments. I got some what-do-you-expect sighs from the mechanic, but he did spend the time needed to get it running right when pushed. Those 28 wide tyres seem oddly narrow for a hybrid bike? I find they only give 1cm wide contact with the road. I love the easy for pedaling, but downsides are 1) scary wet braking , when tyre just slides, 2) careful attention for slots in drain covers & 3) inability to escape roads up droped curb ramps at a normal acute angle. I guess these tyres wear relatively quickly & perhaps I can get tyres with slightly more road contact on these wheels? Gearing is limited & a bit clunky. I'm disappointed to find there's no big gear, to let me slowly pedal along flat roads (but guess that's good for my knees?). I'd have thought the type of customer who wants a narrow tyred bike, would also tend to expect a reasonably big grinding gear to use? As a bike specialist, I'm amazed that Halfords don't tell customers about the lowest & highest gear ratios. It makes comparisons between models very hard. To just say in their spec-sheet 'its got 18 gears', seems like a car-showroom only saying their engines have 'loads of' cc's. I'm 5ft 9in & am riding on the highest adjustment for saddle & handlebars & with the saddle as far back as it will go. (but I could ride lower) Its narrow & very tightly fitted mudguards do pick-up autumn leaves & require annoying stops to release them & stop the noise. I might fit more normal mudguards. But for the price I like the bike. (& finding a online discount code was a bonus) 24 October 2016Rated 1 out of 5 by jacrobi Ridiculously bad Got this bike 1.5 years ago. So far I have changed the rear wheel and tire, the pedals, the chain, front derailleur. Now I need to replace the bottom bracket and the crank sets as the right crank arm's threads cannot hold the pedal. If I do the last repairs my repairs have cost me 100 pounds and I have literally changed almost everything except the frame. Which is really bad for a bike that is this cheap. Don't buy this bike if you are going to use it for more than 6 months. 22 October 2016Rated 4 out of 5 by MartinR2 My second Apollo Envoy I had one before but it got stolen earlier this year, so when the opportunity arose i replaced it with the same bike, I find these a nice comfy ride & good value for money 12 October 2016Rated 4 out of 5 by Raf76 Bike Good, simple bike for town, city use. Prepared for collection. 22 September 2016Rated 5 out of 5 by Frank10 Road bike This bike is very good value for the price. Would highly recommend 22 September 2016Rated 5 out of 5 by jaydur good quality bike for value money This is an excellent bike for value money. It is as expected performance. 21 September 2016Rated 2 out of 5 by HD04 Poor I bought this as a gift. I researched several bikes and tried to purchase 4 more expensive ones. All out of stock unless I wanted to travel 160 miles! I reserved a bike on click and collect and was called to say I had reserved the display one (how was I to know that?) and it was not suitable for sale. By now I was desperate. I knew it was a cheap option, but the tyre completely went within 2 miles on its first ride. Very disappointed. 19 September 2016
