Boardman MX Comp Women's Bike
Taking multi terrain capability and versatility to a new level, the Boardman MX Comp Women's Bike features a saddle and components selected specifically for women to complement the lightweight triple butted X7 alloy frame that has been designed to offer comfort and control on all terrains. Avid Hydraulic disc brakes provide excellent controlled stopping power, the SRAM Centro drivetrain provides smooth and precise shifting and Suntour NCX suspension fork with 63mm travel enhance comfort and control on rough terrain. Added together, all of this makes the MX Comp a bike that is as suited to the morning commute as it is to exploring toe paths and trails at the weekend.

The bike is light and easy to use with excellent gears that just make it easy to ride. I didn't realise until I'd got it home that the front wheel had a bad kink. Do not leave when collecting your bike until you have checked the bike over. I trusted Halfords to do that but the staff were over stretched and I supposed it is easy missed when busy. Smooth ride on both roads and tracks and easy gear changing. Very lightweight compared to my previous 20 year old bike! This is an excellent bike for my return to cycling in 35 years. I thought I would treat myself and get back into cycling now that my grandson has started to show an interest, so I can go out riding with him and my son-in-law. After looking online I phoned my local store in Eastbourne as I wasn't sure about the frame size. I am a 5' 5" man and the measurements online indicated that I should opt for the 45cm framed, mans bike which was confirmed when I phoned the store. However, I was advised to reserve this online, to secure the discount offer, but then to visit the store just to make sure. This was good advice, as when they sat me on the 45cm MX Comp Mans Bike it was too big! But, no problem, my order was swiftly changed, by the very helpful assistant Nathan, to the 40cm womens frame. And, when I collected my bike a couple of days later it was a perfect fit. Bike technology has certainly moved on in 35 years, with hydraulic disc brakes, modern materials and design and I am very pleased with my new bikes smooth ride and performance.Date published: 2016-07-16
