Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good frame let down by sub standard components Purchased cycle last December since then I have had 2 new sets of pedals and a new set of bottom bearings. After eliminating the heavy crunching sound of the bottom bearings I am left with squeaky front brakes which can be rectified by resetting the wheel....good fun on a ride! The bike has not been off road yet. The bike still has a slight crunching noise on hills above 6% but if the squeaky brake and the low crunching noise disappeared I would be happy with the bike as I like the riding position.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All round great bike Had this bike since May 2017 and it has been great for me after my old MTB. I have mostly been using as a commute bike along the West/East Sussex coast (34 mile round trip each day) and I think the bike has coped really well. The only bad thing is the wind which I cannot blame on the bike. I have had to degrease and clean the chain a number of times but I think this is because of the number of miles and the coast riding. I have recently changed the pedals to shimano SPD-SL pedals but this is only because I'm trying to get more speed and efficiency. The old pedals were fine but I'm no expert. The only thing I would change if I could would be to have more gears, but this is only to cope with the many variable wind speeds that I encounter. Again not the bikes fault. Purchased from Halfords Rustington and all round good service (especially from Tim). Got the bike on sale for £500. I then got a discount card through work scheme giving another 10% and then joined British cycling (£27 at the time) and got a further 10%. So got the bike for £405 (£432 if you include the British cycling fee). One very happy cyclist.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Boardman CycloCross Comp For the money this is a super bike, yes its all low end spec and yes the brakes let it down badly, and its not the lightest bike on the planet, but it gets you about from A to B in a faster than expected time, the comfort levels are brilliant, the Mavic wheels hum loud which may cause some people an issue, in time I am going to get this bike lighter, but for now I am one happy cyclist on a great bike.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love my Boardman CX Just a week old, For me an wonderful experience with Halfords starting from the day when I reserved/ordered and got the bike delivered. Gentleman in Halfords, patiently helped me to advise on do's and don'ts I use my bike for my daily commuting to school. Really easy to use, few little adjustments needed that would be covered in my first service in few weeks. Otherwise so far so good and I would strongly recommend this bike. Very light weight, excellent stylish bike for teenagers :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bike, very pleased I had been thinking of buying this bike for several months; when the price was drastically reduced on August Bank Holiday, I bought it via click and collect, initially from Bidston Moss Halfords. The following morning, I had a call from the store to say the bike they had in stock had some marks on it, but there was a boxed one at Aintree store. It took a few minutes to change my order, but later that day, I went to the Aintrre store to collect. All nitre store staff were very helpful; so kudos all round for customer service I rode home (11 miles) and immediately felt very comfortable on the bike. I quickly got used to the gear selectors. The range of ratios is fantastic and the brakes are very effective. I've ridden nearly 200 miles since then and continuet to be very impressed with the bike. It's a comfortable and easy ride, very responsive and has ideal riding position; build quality seems very good. I'm proud to own it

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I just can't ride it Bought through a C2W scheme over 18 months ago and I've ridden it 3 times. I finished up in agony every time I tried. I find the saddle crushes against my pelvis at the rear and crushes my genitals at the front. I don't feel I can reach the pedals comfortably even with the saddle at its lowest position. I've ridden to work and back twice, 6 miles round trip each time and I rode a local cycle route once, round trip of 8 miles. Since then it's sat in the shed, a very expensive white elephant.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pretty good for the price Recently bought through C2W scheme as an upgrade to my winter hack. Fancied something with disc brakes and wider tyres for extra comfort also with the potential for some light off-roading. Verdict so far: + Great value; good spec for price + Not much compromise of on road performance for the ability to go off road + 50/34 11-32 gearing spot on for all situations + Overall exactly what I expected/wanted from this bike. - Quite heavy (compared to equiv spec alu roadie) - Tektro Lyra brakes not really that great esp. with Sora levers (too much travel, juddery and lack feel) - High gloss paint finish scratches very easily, definitely recommend helicopter tape if you care about looks. - Personal preference but green colour is a bit rubbish, saddle is naff and the bar tape could be a bit thicker. All in all, happy with purchase and would recommend.
