New for model year, the SLR 8.9 Disc builds on the ever-popular carbon-framed SLR 8.9 and adds flat mount hydraulic disc brakes as well as other refinements to take this amazing value road bike to the next level.

Featuring similar aero tube profiles and geometry as the top of the range SLR 9.6, the New Boardman SLR 8.9c Disc Road Bike will keep you in the saddle for longer and certainly further. The new line-up introduces Shimano 105 on the 8.9 models for the first time and the 8.9 Disc gets the full Shimano 105 hydraulic disc groupset with powerful flat mount brakes.

The stiff bottom bracket area houses a 105 2-piece crankset and bottom bracket to ensure all your power is transmitted to the road. The 8.9 Disc features upgraded tyres and wheels over the standard 8.9, Vittoria Rubino Pro 28mm puncture resistant tyres. This premium set up is echoed in the silver to grey paint fade.

Full Shimano 105 disc groupset

Shimano 105 R7020 doesn't just look great it also performs brilliantly giving swift and sure shifting with a light touch. The integrated levers are ergonomically designed for general comfort with chamfered tops meaning your grip is assured even when it's hot and sweaty. The 105 50-34T crankset and Shimano bottom bracket transmit power to the 11-30T cassette to give a good range for UK and Irish conditions. This set up is complete with Shimano 105 flat mount Hydraulic disc brakes which deliver fuss-free, powerful stopping meaning you'll feel in complete control in all weather conditions.

Impressive Carbon frame and forks

The SLR 8.9c uses the same aero tube profiles and geometry as the top of the range SLR 9.6, with our C7 carbon being used in both frame and fork. The frame is designed to combine great stiffness and ride quality whilst the aero tube profiles give riders more speed for the same effort. Features such as the integrated seat clamp reduce drag, whilst dropped seat stays and the full carbon fork help maintain comfort. The stiff, oversized PF86 bottom bracket area means that the bike responds instantly when you put the power down.
