    • Boardman Road Sport Bike - 51.5, 53, 55.5, 57.5cm Frames is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from chaintwister nice to look at, but handlebars are a tad limited in width meaning one's pectorals are crushed when riding, and the balance is iffy when riding. brakes too far away to reach. seat post tube over leaned creatring an unusual angle that stretches the body and crushes the spine. Been on a cheap ride, but neck and spine now clicking, right shoulder check an impossibility. better to cycle standing on the pedals to remove resistence on rear wheel - which is considerable. Looks alone are the only saving grace I can sumit here. Shall look to re-sell soon

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bored Man Great specs, but my mate at the weighbridge services claims the weight is closer to 24 pounds, so ad may be misleading. In all events the tubs tyres give a rotten ride, making the ride a grumbling sounding effort. The seatpost has to be set high to ease the effort employed, but the handlebars are unadjustable in height. Road Bike may be misleading, as I wanted a tourer kind which was light. Racing Bike seems the preferred descriptive term here. Overall, a quality build, but specs are ruined by poor design. Disappointed. cannot recommend. Also a 47 frame should be brought out soon. For sure have I learnt my lesson!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bike Bought this bike in September as my first road bike iv only done about 100 miles on it.The toe straps on the penals were challenging in traffic and difficult to get feet into so changed then to hybrid pedals. Best decision I made. Aswell as a softer seat

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Mine is a lemon Done 10 miles on this bike and that’s enough, i bought this boxed, not built, no offence Halfords but I’ve had bad experiences with your free ‘bike builds’. This bike is supplied basically built anyway, attach the bars, pedals and front wheel and your good to go, not on this occasion. Front derailleur was set way too high, as in 8 mm above the largest gear, which is also bent and causing chain rub every revolution. Took a knock before it was boxed is my only guess as there is no damage to the box itself. Lastly, the back wheel is true but very unbalanced, it’s like hitting a pebble every revolution and at speed is not very confident so much so that i’ll be returning the bike as unfit for purpose. Glad I paid with my credit card. This bike has the potential to be good, however mine just isn’t .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent value introduction to road riding I was looking for a low cost bike to improve my performance on country roads. My Kona Caldera mountain bike even with slick tyres was proving too sluggish when accompanied by friends on nimbler road bikes. This caught my eye as it has a decent spec and the Boardman brand is well respected. I've only had it a fortnight but I can't resist any temptation to go out on it. It's really easy to use despite my lack of familiarity with the gear controls integrated with the brakes. It handles very well, but the narrow tyres are a bit unforgiving on patches of rough tarmac and the pedal strap system needs care in traffic. Overall it's a joy to ride and far more comfortable on a recent 50+ miles run than ever experienced on my mountain bike.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect first road bike I purchased this bike for both commuting and weekend riding and so far really impressed i had the boardman hybrid pedals fitted so i can ride in normal shoes or clip in ones which has made things simple the bike is extremely lightweight and moves along nicely without much effort, the gear-change system is great although i think could do with resetting already after one week as the gears are not locating as smooth and accurately as when first ridden. Overall for the price this bike has got to be one of the best intro bike on the market and i am thoroughly looking forward to getting lots of miles under my belt with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bike New to cycling so this seemed like a a good bike to start with - not too expensive but not bottom of range either. No complaints - really pleased with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Boardman Road Sport Fantastic bike. Great value for money. This is my first road bike. I bought it to try and get into cycling to improve my fitness. It is so easy to ride and just soaks up the miles. And if you need a training bike or a winter bike this bike is ideal and will do all you require. I would imagine buying a more expensive one would only help performance if you are into club runs or time trials etc. I changed the pedals to shimano spd-sl and bought a pair of shoes with cleats. The bike is perfect and I've done a little over 90 miles in two weeks. This from someone who is seriously unfit and hasn't cycled a bike in 20 years. Fantastic service from Halfords as well. Really pleased with my purchase. If you want to do something for fitness and don't want to spend the earth this is the bike for you.
