Forwards Faster Further
Boardman bikes are more than just machines, they are a way of life. Founded by Chris Boardman, Olympic gold medallist and multiple World Champion.
Boardman bikes are built for all riders; from the enthusiast through to the everyday leisure cyclist. Boardman's range of bikes have been specifically designed to achieve unrivalled all-round performance with affordable value.
These bikes are developed by enthusiastic cyclists, who are out there every day.
Function & Fit
At the heart of the bike is our all-new C10 Carbon frame - light and efficient at 990g, but with geometry and features to make off-road or rough-road riding fun and confidence-inspiring.
A contoured seat tube and bow-curved seat stays add compliance, absorb impacts and reduce fatiguing vibration. Stable handling comes from slack head angles and a low 73mm bottom bracket drop, but short stems offer agility and responsive steering across the size range. Long top tubes still allow an efficient position for fast rides too.
With clearance for 42mm 700c tyres, hidden mudguard mounts and multiple mounting points for bottles and accessories inside the front triangle as well as under the down tube and top tube, the 9.2 is ready to go anywhere your imagination (and legs) can take you.
Wireless Shifting
SRAM's Apex XPLR AXS groupset is the most affordable gravel-specific electronic groupset and offers impressive performance. Wireless shifts across the 12 speed 10-44t cassette give a gear range to tame rough off road climbs and keep pedalling on fast road descents.
A 1X system brings simplicity to shifting; simply press the left shift paddle for an easier gear or the right one for a harder gear. It becomes instinctive within minutes of your first ride.
Quality & Value
Tyre choice is critical when it comes to mixed-terrain riding; too aggressive and you'll waste energy on smooth surface, not aggressive enough, and loose or muddy cornering becomes the wrong sort of adventure! The ADV 9.2 uses Panaracer's 38mm GravelKing SK tyres to strike an ideal balance between the two extremes.
A closely packed centre tread, rolls fast on smoother surfaces, while the widely spaced edge knobs give plenty of bite for cornering when terrain is less forgiving. A supple, 120tpi tubeless-ready casing enhances grip and comfort.
Wheels are a custom-built Boardman ADV set up, with through-axle hubs laced with 28 Sapim Race spokes to 21mm internal width alloy rims. They come taped for tubeless and, with valves supplied, it's just a case of adding sealant to reap all the benefits of ditching inner tubes!
The Little Things That Matter
Working with Chris Boardman, data from hundreds of bike fits and insight from bike fit experts, we have made simple changes to the contact points of the ADV range. A Prologo Akero AGX saddle is a comfortable, simply shaped seat designed for rough riding.
The Boardman ADV handlebars have a 6-degree flare to the drops, offering a wider stance for better control when descending off-road and a bit of extra space if you wanted to fit a bar bag.
Aftercare
When you purchase a bike from Halfords, our support continues beyond the sale. We offer optional CycleCare - opens in a new tab plans for either 1 or 3 years, ensuring your bike remains in top condition with regular maintenance and expert care.
A CycleCare - opens in a new tab plan not only provides peace of mind but also gives you access to exclusive benefits, including significant savings on accessories, repairs, and servicing. With a one-time payment, you'll enjoy continuous support from our skilled team, helping you get the most out of your bike for years to come.
