Refreshed for the model year, the HYB 8.8 takes all that is great in the 8.6 and introduces 1x10 gears and a carbon fork for a lighter, more comfortable and easier to operate bike. As well suited to the city as it is out on the country roads, the HYB 8.8 is an easy-to-ride bike that will take you wherever you want to go.

The Boardman HYB 8.8 is built on a lightweight, aluminium frame with hidden welds which is paired with a carbon tapered fork to offer great handling and reduced vibrations. The Schwalbe 35mm tyres offer dependability, comfort, and grip with K-guard technology to give you durability and puncture protection. The HYB 8.8 offers smooth and precise shifting courtesy of Shimano's new 1x10 Deore. Add this to the simplicity of a 1x10 giving a great range of gears with minimal maintenance, all controlled through one lever. Shimano MT200 hydraulic brakes provide powerful stopping in all weather conditions.

Sleek, considered design

The HYB 8.8 is built on a triple-butted aluminium frame which is lightweight and includes features such as dropped seat stays for added comfort. The 1-piece bar and stem*, which includes matching headset spacers, contributes to an overall sleek design finish. The 8.8 also gets a carbon fork which not only reduces the overall weight of the bike but reduces vibrations from the road for a more comfortable ride.

New Shimano Deore 1x10

The HYB 8.8 features Shimano's new M4100 Deore 1x10 drivetrain. This set-up includes an 11-46T cassette which offers a range of gearing that can overcome even the steepest hill. Mountain bike derived technology such as a clutch mech and narrow-wide chain ring ensures the chain always stays on, regardless of how bumpy the ride gets. With only one gear at the front this system is not only lighter but also easier to operate and maintain than more traditional drivetrains.
