Introduction

Updated for the model year, the MTX 8.6 is Boardman-s entry level leisure hybrid. Carefully designed to maximise speed, comfort, and versatility for a go anywhere bike that can be relied upon wherever you ride.

The 2021 Boardman MTX 8.6 has a lightweight aluminium frame for easier handling and the geometry is tailored towards an upright riding position that maximises comfort and ensures you always have a good view of the route ahead.

Aluminium Frame & Suspension Fork

The 8.6 is fitted with a Suntour NEX fork which has 63mm of travel to smooth out the bumps and lock out to ensure maximum efficiency on climbs. Schwalbe Tyrago K-Guard 35mm tyres offer comfort, control and speed on both road and loose surfaces, with the added benefit of puncture protection. The MTX 8.6 comes equipped with Shimano Altus 2x9 gears to give you a wide range of options with a slick shift feel. Tektro hydraulic disc brakes give controlled stopping power in all conditions.

The MTX 8.6 is built on triple-butted aluminium frame which is lightweight yet strong. The frame's geometry is designed for maximum rider comfort whilst smooth welds keep the bike looking sleek. The Suntour NEX suspension fork gives you the ability to lock the suspension out so you have the performance of a rigid fork over smoother surfaces. Equally, when you want a more comfortable ride or you hit rougher terrain, the 63mm travel soaks up the bumps.

Not only does the suspension make the bike adaptable on a variety of surfaces, the MTX 8.6 features mounting points which allow you to fit a variety of pannier racks and mudguards, so you can be ready for any weather.
