Introduction
Hardtails take mountain biking back to basics, and that's exactly why so many riders love them. No rear suspension to hide behind means every input counts, so you learn to read the trail and ride with more precision. The MHT range takes that stripped-back approach and builds on it, with a new frame construction and a geometry set up to feel right at home on UK trail centres and cross-country routes. It's a hardtail that keeps up when you're pushing hard, and stays easy to live with when you're just getting started.
Frame & Fork
Getting the balance right on a hardtail is all about combining fun, responsive handling with comfort on rougher trails. The MHT’s frame is built using modern alloy construction, with carefully shaped seat and chainstays and a lightweight, durable 6011 butted aluminium setup. This allows just enough flex in the rear to help keep the back wheel planted, giving you better grip and a smoother ride over roots and rocks.
The clean welds and internal cable routing keep things looking neat, while clearance for tyres up to 2.5" means you’ve got space for added grip and muddy UK conditions. A UDH hanger also helps future-proof your drivetrain for easy upgrades down the line.
Up front, the RockShox Judy Silver TK fork delivers 120mm of travel, taking the sting out of bigger bumps and helping you stay in control. The result is a confident, capable trail bike that still keeps that classic hardtail feel riders love.
Groupset
Shimano CUES is built for exactly this kind of riding. Tough, reliable and ready for regular use, it’s designed to keep performing ride after ride. This 11-speed setup combines an 11–50 tooth cassette with LINKGLIDE technology, delivering smooth, consistent shifting even under load, so you can focus on the trail ahead.
Whether you’re heading out for longer rides or squeezing in a quick after-work loop, CUES is made to handle it all without the upkeep of more delicate drivetrains.
When it’s time to slow things down, Shimano MT201 hydraulic disc brakes provide strong, dependable stopping power in all conditions. That means better control on descents and the confidence to carry speed when it counts.
Tyres
Maxxis Forekaster tyres are a natural fit for British trails, built to handle a bit of everything without needing constant swaps. Designed with shorter-travel trail bikes in mind, the tread rolls faster than Maxxis’ Minion range, while still offering confident cornering grip and dependable braking control compared to more speed-focused cross-country tyres.
That means you get a tyre that’s just as comfortable picking through mud and roots as it is carrying speed along smoother sections. It’s a true all-rounder for UK riding, giving you the grip you need without slowing you down when the trail opens up.
Finishing Kit
The parts you connect with on the bike make a big difference to how every ride feels, helping to take the edge off trail buzz and vibration. The Boardman MTB saddle offers a supportive, stable base for seated climbs, with a textured cover that allows you to shift your weight easily as the terrain changes.
Up front, a strong 6061 alloy handlebar is paired with a short 45mm stem for confident, responsive steering. Finished with Boardman lock-on grips, it keeps control precise and predictable, so the bike goes exactly where you want it to.
