What's is a Winter Preparation Service?

Our Winter Preparation Service includes the following 14 checks to help get your vehicle ready for the colder, darker weather:

• Duxback windscreen treatment (worth £25)

• Antifreeze change* (worth £39.99) (*Excluding electric vehicles)

• Exterior light bulb check

• Wiper blade condition check

• Battery health check

• Windscreen chip check

• Tyre depth check

• Tyre inflation check plus top-up

• Oil level check

• Screen wash top-up

• Ad blue level check

• Check starter motor and charging system

• Check Ancillary drive belts

• Air con temperature check

This winter check should not be booked in place of a regular Interim, Full or Major Service.

Is an oil top up included?

A top up of your antifreeze and screen wash is included. While our Winter Preparation Service includes an engine oil check, there may be an additional charge if an oil top up is required. Your local autocentre will be able to confirm this for you.

Quality Guarantee

All parts fitted at Halfords Autocentres and National Tyres Autocentres are guaranteed for a minimum of 2 years or 24,000 miles* (whichever is sooner). Some parts such as batteries include a longer warranty as stated on the product. If a part we have fitted should fail, it can be replaced or repaired at any of our 600 autocentres. This guarantee only covers parts and labour, excludes any additional costs incurred due to a warranty failure.

Are Repairs included in the price?

No, the Winter Preparation Bundle includes a safety check of the vehicle only, ensuring it is safe and prepared for winter weather. If, as part of the checks, further work is recommended, we will always advise you before any work is carried out.

What happens on the day of your Winter Preparation Service

1. On the day of your booking, please ensure that the vehicle is dropped off at the confirmed time with any car accessories in the vehicle (E.g. Locking Wheel Nuts). A member of our team will check your car in upon arrival.

2. Once a qualified technician has completed the checks, a member of our team will contact you with any recommendations and provide a detailed no-obligation quote for any additional work.

3. If we can complete this additional work on the day we'll let you know, otherwise our team will confirm the earliest and most convenient time to re-book your car in for the approved work.
