In order to develop better resistance, Schwalbe technicians spent many hours performing harsh tests - poorly inflated tyres, loaded with weights on a rolling road, that artificially simulated unevenness over many thousand kilometres.

The sidewall of the Schwalbe Marathon wired tyre is specially designed to withstand the stresses of lower air pressure and effectively prevents ugly ageing cracks (anti-ageing).
