How does a Slime self-sealing inner tube work?
The tube is pre-filled with Slime sealant, which coats the inside as the wheel rotates. When a compatible tread-area puncture occurs, escaping air pushes the sealant into the hole, helping to create a plug and seal the puncture.

What size puncture can Slime seal?
Slime can seal compatible tread-area punctures up to 1/8" (3mm). It cannot seal punctures outside the tread area, including some sidewall punctures and pinch flats.
What is a Schrader valve?
A Schrader valve is the shorter, wider valve commonly found on many bicycles. This tube has a Schrader valve, so make sure your bike uses the same valve type.
What if the tube does not seal a puncture?
Check the tyre for the cause of the puncture, remove any object, reinflate the tyre and rotate the wheel to help the sealant reach the puncture. Larger gashes, sidewall punctures, pinch flats and some other types of air loss may not seal.
How long does the Slime sealant last?
Slime recommends replacing the tube after 2 years for maximum puncture protection. If the tube is still in good condition, more Slime Tube Sealant can be added.
Can the valve become clogged with Slime?
If this happens, Slime recommends cleaning around the valve, removing the valve core and cleaning the valve and O-rings with a wet cotton swab before reinflating.
