Voodoo Hoodoo Mens Mountain Bike - 16", 18", 20", 22" Frames is rated out of 5 by 14.Rated 5 out of 5 by Rory0421 from BRILLIANT! Ordered this to be delivered to my local Halfords with a full build and safety check all in 3 days!! For 440 you are getting a quality bike great performance and great parts you get a good quality air fork with 120mm travel and lockout with a 1x10/11 drivetrain (forgot if it's 10 or 11) all of this runs extremely smooth with a good set of shifters and hydraulic disc brakes with exceeded my expectations. I have used this for XC rides and light enduro rides Even small dirt jumps!! It's fast light and agile and easy to move around in the air! It's a great beginner bike for anyone interested in mtb.Date published: 2018-07-14Rated 5 out of 5 by chardy123 from Excellent bike This is my third Hoodoo and I was worried about the change in gearing in the new model, dropping from 27 to 10 speed. I've had the bike about a month now and, about 95% of the time, the simpler 10 speed gearing is better, gear changes are much faster and simpler when you don’t have to fuss with the 3 gear ratios on the front mech whenever there’s a change in gradient. I have found though that the highest gear is slightly lower than the old model and the lowest gear is slightly higher. The lower high gear is not an issue for me, if speed was my god I’d get a road bike, but I do miss my old granny cog on the steepest of gradients. The bars are about 6cm wider than the old model, which I didn’t like,, but ten minutes with a hacksaw sorted that. All told, I’m very happy with the new Hoodoo and wouldn’t want to go back to the old one, this is a great bike, with a spec equal to that of make & models at twice the price.Date published: 2018-07-06Rated 2 out of 5 by Shammon from Let down by poor gear quality I had spend some time looking at a good first mountain bike and decided on the Hoodoo. Well sadly I had it back 3 times in the space of 3 hours. Halfords were very helpful and it was not there fault, the gearing on the bike was awful. It needed constant adjustment to the rear gears to get it to access all the gear cogs. Then it started jumping out of gear when used. So I had lost any confidence in the bike. I returned it as clearly some severe issue with the gears and ruined the biking experience. I wish I had stuck to my original idea and purchased a Voodoo Bizango which is what I have now done. My friend bought one and had no issues. The bike is well made and is light but sadly the gears need to be way better. Avoid and go for the Bizango.Date published: 2018-06-26Rated 1 out of 5 by DrMarkPhDEngineering from Break/Disc clanking loudly during revolutions - Halfors say its supposed to I was super pleased to own this bike. However, within a couple of weeks teh front disc/break started clanking loudly with every revolution of teh fron whhel. Initially it was when I was cycling fast and rocking the bike from side to side. Then it started clanking on the flat at slow speed. I have only used it on roads and grass, not cross-countryy. I took it in for teh 6 week service and asked for this to be fixed. When I collected it I was told it had been adjusted. I took it outside and returned it immediately as it was not fixed. I left it for 3 more days. On collection the Halfords team said we have decided that it is supposed to clank and it is due to wheel flex. So.... wither teh bike is not fit for purpose or teh mechanics are incompetent. I have left the bike at Halfords and asked them to read the Consumer Right's Act on fit for purpose. I am emailing their head office today. Currently this is a zero start bike as it is supposed to clank. People I ride up too trun around to see what the noise is ...Date published: 2018-06-02Rated 5 out of 5 by Yeslad13 from Atleast the warrantys good The frame is amazing perfect geometery for all sorts of aggresive riding and paired with the 45mm stem it makes quick work of jumps however ive broke a couple thing the derailer grips wheeles all the stuff that usually goes on a buget bike but i snapped the fork and this came as a massive surprise but id deffenitly still recomend this bike because they replaced it with an upgrade free of charge and this is why im buying threw halfords from now on there service is brilliant there bikes are brilliant and i completly love every product i have boughtDate published: 2018-05-27Rated 5 out of 5 by BigD45 from Great bike Bought this bike so i didn't have to use my full suspension every time I fancied a ride and to keep fit. Only been out on it a couple of times so far and I'm really happy with it. Feels really nice to ride and the 1 x 10 does the job perfectly. Upgrades can be made over time and for the money you can't go wrong especially when bought with 20% off bargain. :-). I'm sure everyone will say something different but I'm glad I've bought it.Date published: 2018-05-15Rated 2 out of 5 by VooDooD from Non standard chainwheel An excellent bike, but ruined by the fact that if you need to change the chainwheel nobody supplies a spare. It is a non-standard BCD of around 82mm. The FSA chainset supplied can be supplied by Halfords, but it is £100. That's ridiculously expensive when you only need to change the chainwheel. The chainwheel is steel so should last a long time, but one rock might change that. Otherwise excellent. The 1x10 speed XT derailleur is really good. Brakes are excellent also. Reasonably light for the price. Forks heavy, but solid and perform well. Excellent tyres supplied as standard.Date published: 2018-04-28Rated 5 out of 5 by Aidenlock from Voodoo hoodoo - Got this bike to begin mountain biking also with the occasional commute to work . The bike itself is extremely well priced for what you get . I’ve has this bike down davagh forest and it performs as well as the full suspension bikes if not better . Highly recommend it . I has to cut an inch off the saddle post to lower it all the way down for downhill and pedals need upgradedDate published: 2018-04-22
