Boardman CX Comp Bike - 50, 53, 55.5, 57.5cm Frames is rated out of 5 by 67.Rated 5 out of 5 by UCKSuperman from DO NOT BUY OF YOU WILL USE 60% ON TARMAC First of all value for money is a fact in this case, however if you are used to 23C OR 25C OR 28C you will need to change the tyres as the rolling resistance is so bad because of the 35C tyres. I am used to 25C tyres and I mainly travel on tarmac however about 20% of my ride is harsh broken tarmac and I thought the 35C's will be okay but they are really not as I have to sacrifice 80% of my journey and I ride 20 miles every day to work and back I changed my tyres to 28C Gator skins and boy oh boy it is a massive difference it rolls so well but remember to pump tyres to at least 110 PSI.Date published: 2018-04-06Rated 5 out of 5 by Lionidas300 from This product is excellent value Excellent bike, highly recommend for the price. Cyclocross is definitely the bike for the alternative rider. I purchased the bike approximately 4 weeks ago and have covered a mixture of on road and off such as Forrest, canal and dirt paths without any issues doing somewhere in the region of 50 miles todate. Some TLC and the bike will look after you ensuring you clean and oil sufficiently.Date published: 2018-03-07Rated 5 out of 5 by J2OO from Great This would be a great bike if brakes worked and gears worked without continually rubbing. It would be great if it hadn't have to go back repeatedly. It wouldn't be great if could put Guinean review on Halfords website but only seem to allow reviews with more than 3 stars.Date published: 2018-02-11Rated 4 out of 5 by Newcyclist1 from Great bike The bike looks good. Rides smoothly. My 11 year old found it easy to navigate the gears and brakes. It was beneficial to have the second pair of brakes. Rode it once for 17.5 miles so difficult to comment about specifics. Time will tell. I have given 4 stars as the bike has been used once.Date published: 2018-01-04Rated 5 out of 5 by PNicholas from Boardman surprised me I had looked at every bike in the range, and price group. I was amazed by how much i got with the Boardman. The wheels are improved on the 2017 model, and the group set is excellent for the price.Date published: 2017-12-08Rated 5 out of 5 by Jim2610 from Commute I bought this 2 weeks ago to replace my old rusty mountain bike mainly for riding to work and back (10 mile round trip) my commute is mostly dirt path with a bit of road. 1st off,the staff at halfords warrington were brilliant! As for the bike itself, the breaks are very reliable, ive had no problems at all, the gears however have been abit troublesome, skipping and changing really loud and heavy. Tried realigning them and they seem ok, but it does still happen. Dont fully trust the tyres on frosty mornings but that is probably just because im not used to road bike/ cx tires. Do check over your bike before you leave the store though as my front wheel wasnt tightened on!!Date published: 2017-11-12Rated 5 out of 5 by cyclingfan123 from couldn't have asked for a better bike for the price Bought this bike recently, just done over 100 miles on the bike. it's price now is £650 but I only paid £495 due to sale price of £550 and then 10% off if you trade in your old bike. comfortable and versatile very happy with this bikeDate published: 2017-11-07Rated 5 out of 5 by Trevj from Great fun Went for this bike as previously enjoyed mountain biking and also a hybrid but this bike seems to be able to do it all (nearly). Taken it along forest tracks / bridlepaths and country lanes and it seems at home anywhere. Components are ok and do the job. Overall recommended buy.Date published: 2017-10-23
