Evo-stik Hard & Fast Metal Epoxy Putty is rated out of 5 by 34.Rated 5 out of 5 by 0121mechanics from great value for money easy to use and dose what it says on the packet great productDate published: 2018-04-22Rated 1 out of 5 by Billy1947 from Rubbish Complete and utter rubbish. You need arms like superman to mix it and it is very coarse and hard to apply. If I could I would not give this product any marks at all. A complete waste of moneyDate published: 2018-04-05Rated 1 out of 5 by anywayup69 from Disappointed Well I followed the instructions to the letter but, 2 hours after doing a repair on my car boot the complete mixture I had made came away from the area I was sealing. So disappointed after reading the great reviews prior to purchase.Date published: 2018-02-19Rated 1 out of 5 by Anonymous from Evo-stik didn't! Reviews seemed to indicate it was OK for leaky central heating radiators which is what I had. It was only a very tiny pin-hole leak on a flat even surface so I applied the putty as per instructions but it made no difference to the leak. Tried again making sure surface was as dry as possible, and clean, but leak didn't stop. Ended up having to replace the radiator for £200. Putty was waste of money as I can't use it again nor get a refund as pack part used.Date published: 2017-11-25Rated 1 out of 5 by maniqk from This product is worst Nothing is happening. After trying to fix something after next day is going down. Not happyDate published: 2017-07-11Rated 2 out of 5 by Fordfan83 from Not suitable for exhausts I purchased this putty to repair a break in my exhaust pipe. It is easy to mix and apply, and on first impression does seem quite solid. Unfortunately this putty does not seem to be heat resistant despite stating it is suitable for exhausts. The putty split quite quickly and also produced a nasty smell when the exhaust heated up. I could only really recommend this product as a temporary repair.Date published: 2017-06-26Rated 1 out of 5 by Dthorb1975 from Exhaust repair Bought this as a temp repair to a stainless steel exhaust. Has a bad weld at one point with no corrosion or flexing in exhaust so I expected it to hold. Unfortunately although it says you can use it for exhaust repairs I cannot recommend it as I left it overnight after applying and it seemed to work until exhaust heated up, I now have the exhaust blowing at the weld again and a foul fishy smell where it is now burning the putty. Absolute rubbish (where heat is involved anyway) it didn't last any time and I would not waste the money on a product that is not fit for purpose. Would give it 0 stars if I could as I would have been as well putting chewing gum on the pipe.Date published: 2017-04-06Rated 5 out of 5 by Kiran53 from A great money saver I purchased this having snapped a brake disc rotor bolt in my wheel. While trying to drill it out the bit snapped and in shorts have to drill round the bit making a bigger hole. My plan was to use the mix to fill the hole and RE thread the hole. So my couple of tips, leave the hole rough, a perfect circle doesn't give a great deal to grab to. It might still work but I scuffed the sides with the drill bit so any pressure when tightening doesn't make the mix spin. Fill your hole and depending on how wide the whole you'll need to work out the right amount of time before you start to RE thread it. Mines was about 10mm wide. After 7 mins I drilled a pilot hole 4mm bit for a 6mm thread. I then slowed and evenly drove the new bolt into the hole and then reversed it. Without pulling the bolt I unscrewed it and left it to harden. After a couple more minutes I again placed it back in and removed it. Clearly seeing the new thread groves. I then left it for 4 hours before fitting the new discs. I've used this stuff before and to be honest it's best to leave it 24hrs before use. Then it's rock solid. Another tip, I used an old socked head, filled it with the mix and practiced threading the bolt into it. Gives you an idea of pressure before you work on the main job. Excellent product and has saved me £200 for a new wheel. Hope this helps.Date published: 2017-03-19
