What is Air Con Regas?

An air con regas (also known as air con recharge) is the process of refilling your car's air conditioning system with refrigerant gas to ensure it cools effectively.

Regular maintenance is essential for your cars air conditioning system to ensure it functions as efficiently as possible.

What's Included in the service?

An Air Con Regas includes removing the old refrigerant, checking for potential leaks and refilling with the correct refrigerant. We recommend this is done every 1-2 years.

Please Note: Before booking a regas service we recommend checking your vehicle handbook to identify which gas is suitable for your vehicle.

What are the benefits of Air Con Regas?

An air con regas ensures your air conditioning cools effectively, prevents bacteria build up and can prevent potential compressor repairs. It provides peace of mind that your car stays cool during the summer months.

Which air con gas do you need?

Cars use one of two air con gases: R134a or R1234yf.

R134a is typically found in cars built before 2013, while R1234yf is the newer, more environmentally friendly gas used in most cars from 2013 onwards (and mandatory for new models from 2017). Your vehicle can only use the gas it was designed for, so the two aren't interchangeable. Check your vehicle handbook, look for an under‑bonnet label, or contact your local garage - opens in a new tab to confirm the right one.
