This battery and alternator tester is 12 volt, direct current. Simple and effective. The LED display indicates the condition and output voltage, giving three alternator readings: Strong (14V), Normal (13.5V), Low (13V) and three battery readings: Good (12.5V), Fair (12V), Poor (10V), to quickly identify if either is at fault.
