Carrera Crosscity E Electric Folding BikeThe Carrera Crosscity Electric Bike is perfect if you’re looking for a reliable solution for your daily commute or fancy a bit of leisure riding with an electric boost. With a 313Wh battery offering up to 30 miles of power assistance on a single charge, this bike will more than cover the average commute. The battery feeds its power through a stable rear hub motor that can propel you to speeds of up to 15.5mph. Plus, because the battery is integrated into the bike, the Carrera Crosscity E has such a sleek, balanced design that many people won’t even know it’s an electric bike. One of the few giveaway signs is the USB port in the frame to help you charge your phone or power your lights. The light folding frame comes with a kick stand and rear carrier, for added practicality on the go. 8-speed Shimano Acera gears mean you can smoothly manage the power, and V-brakes offer controlled stopping when you need it. Completing this small but perfectly formed little bike are double wall alloy rims and Kenda tyres. You’ll have everything you need to take on the urban jungle with the Carrera Crosscity E.
MotorThe Carrera Crosscity is built around a Bafang rear hub electric motor system, seamlessly integrated into the rear wheel. The system is equipped with a Speed sensor, which automatically engages the motor once you begin pedaling to provide power assistance to your ride. As required by law, the motor will automatically stop assisting you once you achieve a speed of 15.5mph.
BatteryWith a hidden internal Li-Ion battery, weight is balanced providing an improved ride quality, over those with rear-mounted batteries. The battery is protected from the elements on the Carrera Crosscity. With a battery capacity of 313Wh / 8.7Ah and a range of up to 30miles per charge the Crosscity is very capable on the daily commute or leisure ride. As standard on all Carrera E-bikes, the Crosscity comes with an integrated smart control system that protects the battery from overheating, short circuiting or overcharging. The battery re-charges in just 6 hours, and comes with a full 2-year / 500 charge warranty.
Note; The total travel distance will depend on the capacity of the battery, rider and luggage weight, power mode setting and riding style.
Head-UnitThe electric motor of the Crosscity is controlled via a multi-function LED display –offering Low, Medium or High levels of power-assist. The display / control unit includes an integrated push button to switch between the 3 assistance levels, alongside the power On/Off button. The display is located on the left side of the handlebar and its compact size reduces the risk of damage when in use.
Note: Weight limit: rider weight 85kg plus 15kg of luggage under normal riding conditions.

Carrera Crosscity Electric Bike is rated out of 5 by 72.Rated 4 out of 5 by Gophers from Overall a Good Buy I have had my Carrera Crosscity E-Bike for about 2 months now. I am a 6ft (183Cms) tall 73 year old male weighing in at 14 Stones 13.5lbs (95Kg), & I use the bike mainly for short journeys. Overall I am pleased with my purchase. It has proven to be very reliable, with no serious problems. The bike has no suspension & the saddle it comes with is very hard, so I would recommend changing it for a more comfortable one, as I have done. Other than that I have no complaints. The 3 levels of assist are great. If I am feeling energetic, I use the lowest level, but for hills and against strong winds I use medium or full assist. Having the choice is great. In summary, a great bike but a softer saddle would be a good improvementDate published: 2018-10-18Rated 5 out of 5 by Ali27 from Very happy with a couple suggestions I’ve had my bike a week. The bad stuff first: no suspension, really rubbish thin male saddle..replace this ASAP, heavy to lift up and down station steps and into boot. No clip to hold folded bike together. If you keep bike open as much as possible on train, use lift wherever you can and sit off saddle on major bumps this is a great bike. Wheels bigger than Brompton with better tyres less likely to puncture ( I sold my Brompton), great for after work when you are too tired to cycle up hills but also great for getting back into exercise. I’ve done about 15 miles and charge still shows full. I expect that to change as the battery gets older. I’m very happy and it’s fun. I’m 46, female, 15 stone, large backside. Would recommend.Date published: 2018-10-11Rated 3 out of 5 by Sid911 from Crosscity ebike Brought this last year for £650. Overall it's ok. I don't think it's worth the new price. As nothing has been changed since I brought mine. I've upgraded my bike with suspension and fitted front disc brakes. If they had done this then it would be worth the higher price.Date published: 2018-08-31Rated 5 out of 5 by Mohowild from Such a brilliant bike! I bought the Crosscity E to take with me on my travels in my motorhome. It was perfect for me as I have arthritis in both knees and have difficulty walking by great distance. I bought the folding bike as I wanted to carry it inside the motorhome, but often it was enough just to drop the saddle and handlebars. When folded, a bungee or Velcro strap is all you need to keep it together. I loved my bike but I was devastated when it was stolen in Seville after only 6 months, despite having a hefty lock on it. Sadly I can’t afford to buy another one, but would certainly buy another one if I could. My recommendation would be to buy a couple of top quality locks if you buy this bike, as they are very desirable!Date published: 2018-08-30Rated 5 out of 5 by aardy from good bike well i got this bike a few weeks ago , im near 60 and not fit , i live in a very VERY hilly area , and need to get to work 6 mile round trip over 200meters of elevation when i go home. i did the 30 min test drive from halfords , and was suprised i could get up the hills to my home easy peasy , in 4th gear at 8-10 mph even, even my old moped could only do 12mph up that hill , so i was a bit impressed , longest i did in one ride was about 16 miles , keeping in mind i have that big hill to climb when i go back home , was no problem . the seat that it came with was not good , so i put a spring brooks saddle on it , folding is easy but you need a bungee cord to hold it together as its sort of flops around as you try to carry it , i also put slime in back tyre as dont wana be taking that off for a puncture , front will be easy if needed , brakes are good even in the wet . i also put a panier on sometimes to get a bag of shopping and it still gets me uphill no problem , onje thing i like alot is tha at first glance it dont look like an ebike as the battery is in the frame , so all in all , a good bike so far , i just hope it lasts a good few years and that halfords will be able to get batterys etc when i need them in time to come , i recomend this bike , but since i bought it i see the price went up by £15 to now £850 , eekDate published: 2018-08-17Rated 5 out of 5 by Anneeone from Fab little bike As someone who’d not cycled for years and is getting on a bit, I wanted a bike that Gave me flexibility and this bike fits the bill. I love that I can choose the level of assistance - I don’t it to do all the work, but it will. I love that it gets me up hill so easily and I love how much fun I am having. The battery life is pretty amazing - I have only had to charge it once and whilst I’m not commuting with it, I’ve done a fair few bike rides. With a bag on the fitted carrier, I can carry all of my essentials. We are going to Oxford soon so I have bought panniers to let me do a little shopping. My only gripe is the weight and yes it really is awkward when folded due to having no catch to keep it togethetDate published: 2018-08-06Rated 5 out of 5 by MickC68 from Very well built and neat design My first electric bike, brought for a 5 mile commute each day. The bike is very well made and the concealed battery much better than those on the rear rack. Easy to fold up and fits in a small corner of my flat and easily in boot of car. The 3 power levels are good, I’ve mostly used low as I want to get fit, but high is excellent when pulling away at busy junctions. Value for money is very good compared to other brands. The bike feels very stable riding along, with bigger wheels than some foldable bikes, I am 5ft 4 so not sure how well it would fit a taller person. Overall very happy with the purchase, my commute time has halved from catching the bus and I would recommend this bike.Date published: 2018-06-25Rated 5 out of 5 by Mislam2235 from Carrera Crosscity Electric Bike Purchased through the cycle to work scheme in April. It's served me well so far and clocked up quite a bit of mileage. The cycle into work is a very relaxed affair thanks to the electric assistance. You still have to pedal but the inclines are effortless. It folds up well into the boot of the car. Excellent little bike for commuting around town and on short trips.Date published: 2018-06-25
